Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "There really wasnt alot between the sides. We seemed to come out in the second half desperate to get an early try on the board and as a result we coughed up possession and gave them a chance to show just what a good side they are in that 10 minute burst. A bit of patience might have seen us over the line.

Lots of positives though. That performance would have beaten most sides. Lineham is a future international for sure and he and Crooks showed signs of a good partnership. I thought Johnson showed up really well again and McDonnell continues to impress me. Watts coming back will give us a bit more punch and an offload threat which I think we need.

Just got to get our heads down now and grind out a few results. Huddersfield aside, our next 8 matches are all ones that we should be winning.'"

100%.
That's all Warrington did. They were content to force repeat sets until we eventually cracked. We were more bothered about scoring than just applying pressure.

Disappointing second half. Thought we would struggle without DJ, hope he makes a swift recovery, still getting headaches today. Turning point was that knock on by O'Meley for me, think we had 4 tackles in the bag and great field position. Easier run of fixtures coming up, need to show first half intensity and get some points on the board. 3 points from 8 disappointing start if we want to improve league position this year.

Some great effort in defence today, but echoes of the Leeds game.

We have the makings of a very good team but there is clearly lots of work to be done to reach the standards of the likes of Warrington, Leeds and Wigan.

Disappointed, of course, but not disheartened.

3 from a possible 8 is poor however we have played 3 of the top 4 teams so an easier few games will help steady the team and get the confidence up.

That was very much my view of it. We tried hard, but we're still every inch a mid-table side.

They seemed to cut us to pieces through the middle when Green and Westerman were put there. Couple that with Houghton having to play 80 and Lynch having an off night we just weren't strong enough through the middle in that second half.

3 from 8 is actually better than we should have expected considering we have played Leeds, Saints and Warrington. These teams haven't been winning/ getting to grand finals and winning challenge cups for no reason and finishing above us in the league.

Quote: Kosh "During that 15 minute period where they scored their tries they had 12 out of 13 sets played. In the whole half they had 22 sets against our 15 and made way more yards per set on average. The graph was a big wadge of yellow on their side and a lot less white on ours.'"

You just can't withstand that amount of pressure.

Also disappointed but a realist.
Think we should have really been aiming to win that taking into account the injuries on both sides...
Lacking in any real creativity with ball in hand.
Think we'll probably emulate last seasons 6th place finish/ish.
We are middle of the road SL team.

3 points from 8 is one more point than many including myself expected!

agree after o'meley knocked on wire jus stepped up a couple of gears and played patient rugby then picked us off with ease down the middle

think gentle got it wrong today, seymour should have been given the nod, otherwise i cant see much of a future for him at the club, can see him on a loan spell at salford in a few weeks if they cant get anybody

Quote: Rock God X "As I said in an earlier post, we haven't adequately replaced Moa (or, arguably, Manu). Unless we get Watts and Ellis back and then keep them both fit for the remainder of the year (without losing other key forwards like Lynch or O'Meley), it'll be the story of the season.'"

It's an odd one, because IMO Green & Johnson have been the pick of our forwards so far, but it's really the type of players Moa and Manu were that we haven't replaced.

Having an off season IMO. Wouldn't have believed I'd be saying it last year, but when Watts is fit he should have a fight on to keep his place.

I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell:30566.jpg

Yes, love it, another future international. Any young kid who makes the FC first team line up seems to be a future international on here.

Anyhow, FC performed very well for 60 mins, looked very comfortable in defence but lacked a little creativity in attack. McDonell(sp) had a very good game and was IMO your MOTM. Come 60 mins when Wire got on top your forwards looked shattered and they blasted there way through with ease down the middle. Lineham showed up well along with Crooks who came up against an experienced quality pair, makes me wonder why Arundel and Crookes(sp) where brought in to be first choice.

Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand Workin' in the dark against your fellow man But as sure as God made black and white What's down in the dark will be brought to the light:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_67329.jpg

Gonna watch it again before I decide but some very head scratching decisions . What is the rule on the ball having to bounce in touch ?.
I think lineham is a massive prospect for the future but dont think hes quite ready yet the sooner crooks is back the beter along with holdsworth and get heremaia back in tandem with houghton

McDonnell has been great so far this season. Looks to be flourishing under good coaching.
