Why would we do that and effectively pay for a player we don't have? Not to mention using up cap space. That would be the height of stupidity IMO and I'd be [iextremely[/i disappointed if we've done any such thing.

I do recall an article that claims McKinnon offered to stay until the end of the season but Gentle more or less told him to leave now (words to that effect), maybe he got some dosh to go before the end of the season as Gentle felt he would not be as productive as he could be if his heart was here instead of Australia.

That does make some sense. Makes me think Gentle may have something up his sleeve regarding this season

I too would be surprised if any pay-off amounted to more than a flight home but if it did, I'm not overly worried, just shows we're not as skint as some would have us believe
