“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.

Any Gentle out petitions yet? Hull had ill disciplined and Rovers penalties were justified, fantastic display from the referee. Another derby win against "the biggest and strongest" pack in superleague.
I definitely think you should play Lyne at fullback this season, he's great.'"
Tell me again dopey...how many points was on offer today and where are you in the table...oh hang on....season not started yet is it.
So you liked seeing a player flat out do you.......he was injured but never mind eh...at least your missus will be in for a good 30 seconds tonight.

Thought paea and Clinton were both great for us I think Seymour is another berrigan in his standard of play and think he will get better I do honestly see bright things for fc this season.

Could tell he hadn't established strong enough links with the hbs so hhis lines were a bit off, looked dangerous with ball in hand though, always looking to offload.

| You could tell they had a good work-out against Wigan the week before....we will be better for that against Bradford. On a positive front...Mcinnon looks the part as does Heramia...Seymour showed good touches in parts.Lynch his normal steady self....biggest let down was Horne....i know 1st match but doesnt look any different from last season.
End of the day...a friendly and full body contact work out for us...if the in-breds want to celebrate it as though they actually won something, thats up to them...at least limpdick wont be limp.

| i never think you can gauge too much out of 'trial' matches, ive been to ones before which weve won handsomely and you hear 'arent we great, win the double this year!'and ones that end in defeat, and its 'arent we crap, might as well not bother this season'..its laughable really..all the interchanges, players who havent played a serious game in months, new players etc..its just building towards the first 'real' game of the season, then we will see exactly where we are..

Are you the one that's actually Bertie/Andy or was that "looking in"?
Maybe we're still not playing nicely with Radio Humberside. Amusingly RH's solitary post-match retweet had a hashtag #uptherobins #hkr. Nice olive branch

| Will this performance have any impact on the team you send to Fev on Thursday?
Maybe give 1 or 2 of the 'underperformers' a bit more game time?

| Only a friendly, however our defending looked poor at parts.
Thought that the referee was abysmal, no consistency at all in his decisions.
Well done to Rovers, they made some good moves at times and exploited holes in our defence.
I thought that Will Sharp was much improved on his performances last season, and Martin looked okay when he came on. Was impressed with O'Carroll, he was much better than I had expected.
Lynch was good in his stints, although I would have liked to have seen more of him.
Was disappointed in Horne today, he had a very poor game and appeared to be a weak-link.
I'm also not sure why we didn't utilise high kicks more often, considering the wind, etc.
We also appeared to not really have a plan B, we just carried on the way we were.
However, it was our first game and so it's understandable that we weren't fully settled and that things didn't 'click' entirely, but hopefully we'll perform better against Bradford next week and carry on an upward trend ready for the start of the season.
Unfortunate for Beaumont to get such a bad injury, hope he recovers well. I thought that Paea was good for KR, and Craig Hall showed some attacking flair too (but again made one of his trademark cockups).

...Unbelievable that, what a sad pathetic bunch they really are, they have just made themselves looks silly and that tweet confirms what every FC fan has always known, they would not know independent broadcasting if it bite them on the butt!

I can't see Horneys game changing at all. He'll still do his predictable drop off and show and go and poor kicking game.

Couldn't say for certain but I would. Some players clearly need as much game time as they can get. Seymour and Horne need more time to gel, so I would give them the first 40 minutes at least.

to be honest you don't full know what a season will be like until the Easter weekend, who can forget how we started 2009 like a house on fire...then it decended into one of the worst seasons ever...2006 started badly, and we ended up in a Grand Final.
which is why the amount of people moaning on and on for most of the game today annoyed me.
