His alternative was to advertise the post. People seem to be "pleased with this" based on the fact he is now an ex FC player. He should have had to work his way upto the assistant coach role not walk straight into it. However, if it's the only way they could get him to agree to retire it's probably worth it.

There's a difference between writing someone off and suggesting that proper advertising of the post, together with a rigorous selection/interview process, might have thrown up a better candidate.

As for all these people shouting about Powell,yes he has done a good job at fev,but Leeds soon got rid of him,with leeds fans saying he was rubbish and clueless!!! Radford has the same reasons as Cummings, Poaching, Lowes, Anderson, Harris and Hay and they have all done quite well.

The heach coach is the one that counts, the assistants are largely footmen.

Yeah I have heard we are going for two assistants not heard any concrete names though only the obvious ones Hay and Chester.
