If they do nothing to save this season there'll be no one on the terraces to see the wondercoach next!'"
Well fans on here had a thread last week were they all reckoned the season was over and we wouldn't do anything. Sack Agar tomorrow but what if the man we want is not free til the end of the season? Do we just rush into any old appointment.
It won't effect recruitment for next season and the fans would come back I think with the right coach.

Some will come back but I doubt all of them will be as willing to jump right back in. It takes a long time to build up a good fanbase but it takes no time at all to lose them. The longer it drags on the more the "stragglers" will drop off then we are just left with the pass holders, of which there are already a lot of them not going to games.
This will also have a knock on effect on merchandise sales, I used to see plenty of people going into the club show on game nights but that is dwindling as well. Also those "stragglers" will not be that bothered about having the new replica kit so lots of potential sales will be lost there.

I think we could announce a coach midseason and start recruitment and whilst I take your point I do think the coach is everything when it comes to recruiting.
I am fed up of the same thing Mrs B, I just think one right appointment could solve a lot of issues.

Let's face it if he remains in charge the season is over. I think fans would be happy if he was sacked or resigned and the club announce that they will not rush into sign a new coach even if that means the end of the season so be it. We can appoint a interim coach and it doesn't have to be somebody from within the current setup either.

Trouble is, after the past few years I (and I suspect many others) have no faith that it will be made.

I agree with you about the right man for next year. But we need someone (else, perhaps, unless he pulls up trees) to save this one. Or I fear the club will do untold damage to itself.
My main concern is the preservation of all the club has built up over the last decade. And I truly believe they are about to chuck it all away for the sake of the misguided protection of 'Agar the Nice'. Why?

Couldn't agree more. As Paul says, one right appointment could solve a lot of issues. I just feel now that procrastination on the issue is a wrong and damaging strategy.

The thing is, I don't know if the board (most of them) are themselves being bull ted, or that they are just being pig headed.
I think that there is only KH that knows about the game at some depth.

| I honestly don't think the board know what to do for the best. As people have pointed out, they were quick to get rid of Kear and Sharp even though their records were much better than Agar's. To a point all boards should back their coach/manager but to me, our 'people at the top' made a rod for their own back when they gave Agar a two-year deal last April on the back of achieving pretty much sod-all.
That upset a percentage of the fan base at the time and the erratic performances that followed throughout the course of the season just made things worse. Yes, we improved on 2009 but we couldn't have been any worse could we? the thing that annoys me most about our club is that it's all 'coulda, woulda, shoulda'. We NEARLY made the top four, we NEARLY beat Wigan a couple of weeks ago etc etc. Yes, we NEARLY made the top four but were then shown up for how average we really were by getting spannered by Rovers at home in the play-offs. That should have been the time to make a change in my opinion but it didn't happen and it now looks as though we'll be stuck with Agar, regardless of performances/results/league position.

| Lets all just face it we are stuck with Agar and we are stuck with Kath and her ambitionless cronies, so get used to it, mid to lower table madiocrity for the forseeable future, as long as Kath is still here my money will be staying firmly in my pocket,

| I believe, apathy of epedemic proportions is exactly what Kath/James want/expect but more importantly are relying on. We must continue our verbal damnation of the clubs decision to keep agar at every opportunity. A win at either quins or kc next week only serves to paper over the immense cracks and as hard as it maybe to berate individuals on a public and personal front, we have been left with no choice. We have to hope that somewhere in that seemingly dense void he calls a brain, he realises that fan/people power is stronger than any unity he Kath and/or Rule seem to have. Continue, no matter what the level of duplication, to send complaints, banners, chants because everyone has a breaking point. Weve reached ours so why shouldnt they be forced to reach theirs!
