Quote: EXPRO "but who says he was ever involved with bradford anyway ?? the press, bootsn all oh well it must have been true then It's as good information as us who aren't in the club get. Hull aren't going to post an article on their website saying "In other news, Ewan Dowes is holding discussions with Bradford" and all you do is talk a load of poop anyway.

The fact Agar prefers Cusack (who sadly has probably gone a season too far) says a whole lot too.

but does stats show he definately holds his own !! tackle buster he isnt....

You know i am here to be shot down but i would love to give him a run at Hooker !! hes got good hands , carries strong, he isnt slow and he can bang a bit too, not disspimilar in stature to cunningham... not as fast or elusive as berro or howwy but just my thoughts!!

Apart from having a lower meters per carry, a lower rate of succesful tackles, less tackle busts and giving way more penalties. He has made 2 less errors though

Quote: Smiggs "Because the club can't seem to sign any of it's proposed targets so are havin to re-sign those players that were deemed surplus to requirements several weeks back.'"

Such as who?

The only player who has been told he is surplus to requirements is Hall.

Radford and Dowes were both offered new deals. Radford has now signed, Dowes may yet sign if he can't get a better deal elsewhere and if we can't find a better replacement.

The door is still open for Calderwood.

So if Hull don't have a game, the players are free to behave like idiots in the town centre to the extent that they have to be forcibly removed from a nightclub? Of course they should be allowed to go out and have a few drinks if we don't have a game, but they really ought to behave in a reasonable manner whilst doing so.

Correct the only one is Hall and maybe the other possible targets we have looked at such as Karl Pryce don't seem to be enough of an improvement on what Hall offers and could potentially want a lot more money.

I have none. I only know what I read on here! I don't know if it was earlier in this thread or the previous one where someone said he'd been offered a reduced basic deal with appearance bonuses that would make his salary up to his previous level if he played every game. If it's true, I like the idea and think it's a good compromise.

Quote: EXPRO "without half backs its a darned miracle we got where we are which shows the class this squad really do have!!
we have plugged a hole on the wing already with a class act in young sharp and the couple coming in will plug other gaps , add that to horne and long playing more of a season than this year and we are up there with the top three..
dont underestimate this squad there is a lot of quality players in that squad and some hard grafters too, i just dont see how any team with the likes of Omeley, Fitzgibbon, long, Horne, Yeaman, manu, Tickle, Berrigan,Moa, Calderwood, whiting, could be called that far off the mark... again we have been without halves all season and that is all we have missed...
we will make old trafford have faith !!!'"

We've had at least 1 of our 1st choice 1/2 backs available for most games this season. wire, saints, leeds, hull kr have all operated with one of their 1st choice halves missing for a chunk of the season and have all managed, most much better than us

Quote: Ull Fc 1865 "Think sometimes Dowes does not get the credit he deserves he always puts the effort in is very solid in defence and has been a very good servant to our club, I dont think it would be the end of the world if he got another year. go with Dowes/Radders as grafters and Ogre/Moa and impact props.'"

For me Dowes seems to be another Adam Maher as in solid but not spectacular, not given credit for the effort and work he puts in for the team and only notice what value he had to the team when he'd gone.

If we are struggling to find anybody better than Dowes then it wouldnt be the end of the world if he was signed for another year. In all fairness our pack hasn't been the problem really its been the lack of Long & Horney let alone a partnership in the halfs all season.
