| Quote: PAUL M "Most of his offloads in that game came as a result of him being driven back towards his own line and out of desperation.
As for winning the collision, really Dave? He just turns around and tries to fall over, he seems to get dominated nearly all the time. He does try and gain quick ptb's I will grant him that but he makes seldom few yards.'"
Ive watched the game a couple of times and saw some decent offloads there. Didnt see him go backwards any more than any of our others players.
He may turn into the tackle but often keeps his legs pumping to make extra yards. Guess ive always seen a different Radders to some/most on here. For me he isnt great, but he is no where near as bad as some make out on here and he is head and shoulders above the likes of King, Thacks and Tickle.

He does ALOT of work for the team, but not captain material imo.

Thats becoming more and more evident. However, a captain doesnt always have to be the sole leader. Ive said this all along too. No one else out there puts their hand up so i guess Radders may be frustrated by that too? He shouldnt be the only one that can speak behind the posts for example when weve conceded a try, the big players like Horne and Berro need to as well, no one individual is at fault for me, each senior player is letting us down.

He just doesn't. He tries to, and may gain an extra few inches, but he does so at the expense of a quick play and a potential big gain/'roll-on' on the next play. The minimal extra yardage he might make is more than negated by what it costs the team.

He does no worse than anyone else in our pack.

| He doesn't even get a quick PTB. But none of the team do, which is a major concern imo.

Upto this season I would have agreed with you about Radford but he looks like a player who is running on empty now, he is so slow it's ridiculous.

Yes he does. He's probably the worst in the collision with the ball and is one of the worst when tackling. The thing that makes it more annoying is that he has shown (mainly early 2007 and prior, but even this season at times) he can do better, much better. He has run hard into the tackle, pushed through two men and hit the ground on knees and elbows, bouncing up for a quick play. He has wrapped up the ball carrier and turned them, controlling the tackle and slowing the resulting play. But he does so very rarely now.

Better at both: Cusack, King, Tickle, Manu, Burnett, Washbrook.
Better with the ball: Thrackray, Moa, G Horne.
Better without the ball: Dowes, Maloney.

Fair enough, agree with Cusack, Manu, Burnett and Washy. No way about King and Tickle.
Moa i give you, Thacks and G Horne never.
Dowes and Maloney better than Radders defensively from a technical angle? No way!

King and Tickle both regularly get through the initial impact when carrying the ball. They both find the floor well and in a good position a lot more often than Radford. Defensively, Tickle is miles ahead in terms of controlling the tackle. He's probably the best at the club still (up there with Cusack, anyway). King isn't as good, but he often makes much better contact than Radford and slows the play down much more effectively.
Thackray and G Horne, again, both get through tacklers. They often avoid heavy contact through footwork and running style. Again, better than Radford.
Dowes and Maloney both control the ball carrier more effectively. Neither are great, but both are run through and caught on the wrong side less often than Radford.

| Just read the lastest grapevine and what a joke Agars comments are.
"Hull FC coach Richard Agar pulled no punches following the Black and Whites defeat to Castleford last week and once again he has been full and frank with his team selection for Friday’s clash with Celtic Crusaders"
“In isolation, we had some boys trying their heart out, but for one reason or another we had some players who’s effort wasn’t good enough for the shirt, good enough for the fans and good enough for us as coaching staff.”
Hull FC coach Richard Agar said, “There will be changes, just how many will be determined by a few factors." - These factors been the players who are the coaches favourites?
Interesting to see who the ones are that will be dropped from the 17 and to the bench then as the ones dropped so far Maloney & Hodgson who haven't played and Broughton!
So it seems we have more talk less action again form Agar, and we wonder why we are poor, there is absolutely no need to play for your place.
