The reference was that his lack of leg speed would always be a detriment to his attacking game'"
He really wasn't. He said his lack of leg speed makes him less of a threat at 6, but is a good centre.

Alan Carr would be an upgrade on Griffin but if we signed him there would be some on here who would find a positive in the signing.
Signing Sutcliffe another utility play on a three year deal who the coach at Leeds is quite happy to release does not show any real intent to make up ground on some of the top clubs.
If you buy average you usually get what you pay for.

So because he is slow we play him at centre?

But unfortunately we are in the position to sign a top player from saints Wigan catalan etc. You wanted us to sign simm but he can't even get into a injury hit saints team so that shows how average he is

I know Hodgson has been tasked with sorting out a long standing mess, but you can’t see any improvements in performance.'"
That’s the problem, he’s had nearly 2 years in the role to have implemented some improvements in the way we play but in all honesty I fail to see anything as we still make the same poor decision, fail to respect the ball, don’t seem to have the mind set to play out a set of 6 etc. it’s just sane poop different season and the same old tired rhetoric of fans need to be patient blah blah blah. The manner of the defeats is worse than it ever has been and the continuation of doing the same things each week that just don’t and haven’t worked as though Hodgson thinks somehow things will be different is just fool hardy.

| It’s a bad sign when even after another drumming at home and I’m completely numb to it. Probably the worst 50 minutes of rugby I’ve watched in my circa near 20 years of supporting this club.
It was a promising start, early try, genuinely looked like we had Saints rattled. But as always, this mentality weak bunch falls apart at the first sign of adversity. Sure it’s far from ideal losing your FB, but come on, that collapse and the total disjointed mess we had to endure was nothing short of amateurish.
Feel like a broken record, but what other club in SL would have two hookers on their bench and continue to flog their veteran 9 down the middle? On one of the hottest days of the year against the reigning champs of all sides, Only us. It sets the tone for how weak, slow and to be painfully honest embarrassing our middles have been in recent weeks. Forwards making yards for fun. Grabbing at shirts cos the opposition is simply fresher and fitter then us. It’s not rocket science, use your bench more effectively Brett Hodgson.
More on Brett, I appreciate that emotions will be high after FT, but to single out individual players and throwing them under the bus the way he did is a very risky stance to take. There seems to be no acknowledgement of error on his behalf. There’s not many teams that would have 3 severe hammerings at home on the bounce and would be able to walk away from them without being under pressure.
If the club is serious about improving crowds and pass sales then it has to win the last four games, the three at home at the very least. Sadly I wouldn’t be shocked if we didn’t win another game this season.

| Maybe a 3 year "building plan" is just a sneaky way of a coach not fully knowing what he's doing getting a long term contract and avoid being under too much scrutiny in years 1/2 if things don't quite go to plan and our chairman fell for it during the interview process

| I just read Hodgson words on the bbc sport match report
“I thought we started-off reasonably well, but once fatigue hits we had some decision-making by key individuals which created some opportunities for St Helens and then they ground us into submission so it was very disappointing.”
There’s fatigue and then there’s being totally unfit. 4 tries in ten minutes then straight after half time it’s 3 tries in the first ten minutes.
Who is actually getting these players fit? Conditions are the same for both teams

Hull are a team of full time professionals and had the same playing conditions as Saints.
Can’t blame fatigue. Should look at discipline, attitude and decision making for starters.

| Numb to it all now.
The players have downed tools again on another coach because they don't like his ways.
Whatever their views on BH they're professional sportsmen and the dross they're serving up shows a complete lack of respect for AP and the fans inparticular.
BH will be here next season whether we like it or not, I think AP has once again invested heavily in another project.
We apparently also have a very well paid forward who was told he can leave but will definitely see out his lucrative 5 year contract.
There's no incentive for these players and no consequences it would seem.
Only players for me who came out with any credit today we're Mitch and Fash.
The rest were lazy, clueless and useless at best.

No one knows the reason he was recalled to Saints but i would still back his ability at centre against Sutcliffe
We havnt seen Simm at centre yet but he is seven years younger,Bigger in overall size and weight and much faster than Sutcliffe.
Remember Sutcliffe was in and out of an average Leeds team last season.
Nothing against him just think we should be aiming much higher if we are giving out 3 year contracts.
I would be happy to have Simm and Longstaff here next season. They are young players with potential who even now can mix it in S/L
