Sorry just got back from the game - 250 mile round trip means I don't see your posts as early as some.
Anyway - insightful comment well done

| Great performance from 1 to 17 and so good to go to the KC and actually enjoy watching a game.

| Ventured over today, thought we bossed the 1st you bossed the 2nd.
First time I've seen Wire look tired this season, even though you went in front i genuinely thought we could score easily first half, Sandow was his usual unplayable cocky maverick self, the team was doing well.
Johnson the rookie was tested and I thought he lacked confidence if I'm honest and Lineham...well milk turns quicker than that lad.
2nd half was an 'arm wrestle' as they say but as the game went on i thought it was clear who the fitter side was, coupled with some daft errors and decisions.
As a contest i enjoyed it, close and hard fought contest, love the fan banter too.
Obviously a negative for me is the result.
Could have gone either way, and as a supporter and defender of this sport that's the sort of stuff I want to see week in week out in most fixtures, 10 mins to go both teams the chance to nick it. I think Gids would have been possibly someone to get us over the line, not saying that as a certainty as I'm sure you would have had players out who you felt would have made a huge difference too.
All in all disappointed with the result, effort could have been better i guess (easter maybe?) but fair, and being honest i think you just about deserved the win.

It was squeaky bum time in that last five minutes for the second time this weekend. Agree thought it was a great game of rugby league which could of gone either way at the end.
Great support, following and noise from your fans! Hope you had a good trip!

Very fair assessment. I think we benefitted from dropping several U23s in (Turgut, Lancaster, Abdull, Hadley); in that last quarter energy proved vital - more so than senior, but jaded, quality.

Absolutely spot on Yed, I don't know whether FC favour a side to attack but they certainly targeted our right today. The game could have gone either way and was pretty decent apart from the result.
All those bashing the ref must have been at a different game to me I thought it was fair enough....not every pass can be forward and we were both as guilty as each other for off-side IMO. Your crowd today were at times almost headingley-esque

| The only thing i have with the ref is the charge down that wasnt.
Not he one that led to Hull scoring, I'm fine with that one even though personally I'm not fine with Wire doing it.
The one in which it was kicked point blank into (Evans?) who turned to protect himself and had zero chance of getting out the way.

Thought the same at the game and posted on our board that it was harsh certainly not worth scrubbing the tackle count
Ah well it's how we react on Friday.

| Good game, Hicks was ok let the game flow and it could have gone either way in the end, surprised the Wire looked a bit jaded last 20 minutes but you can't win them all, great atmosphere and Ellis is still class

I guess when 2 players run flat out to pressure the kicker and it hits one of them, you run the risk of the decision going against you

I'm sure our coach was aware of Tom's failings defence wise having suffered them ourselves. A great game from both teams and a cracking advert for rugby league. Good luck for the rest of the season.

I enjoyed it apart from the last 5 minutes BTW I think that you passed the tip on our board about park and ride from Priory Park? If so thanks, easy peasy especially from the west which I suppose we all are apart from your neighbours and the Dutch.
Good luck to you also let's hope for a competitive season.

| I parked on the big car park next to the ground, took 10 minutes turning left then right at the lights all in all, compare that to Salford...Wow and they get way less than you.

| Overall I thought we just about deserved the win. I think our forwards handled theirs well and were probably on top and it was only really a stupid try we let in from a quick penalty and a couple of bits of magic from sandow that made the game so close. We looked a lot better in their 20 and our goal line defence was much improved on a few weeks ago. It would be good to see both sides at full strength and fully rested to see how we go against them. Only really in the halfs where they have any advantage IMO and I think our forwards are better. Neither 3/4 line is that good other than lineham who is a great finisher despite his defensive frailties

| Just watching the highlights and I was struck by how many dummy runners we had. For two tries Sneyd could play right up to the line because he had a man on his left freezing defenders. The big question for me about our team is why we don't always play this way. Is it really down to confidence?

Been wrestling with the same question all weekend.
Re the dummy runners, was struck by how many we had in the first couple of games against Salford and Cats as well. One of the singular most frustrating things over the last years is how we've failed to deliver in this very basic area.

| More and more impressed with Sneyd the more I reflect on the weekend. Noticed against Wire he controlled the game. Also noticed him doing everything to slow opposition down like chucking the ball away when there was a scrum called, and at that last drop out that could have seen us lose it. Proper had his head screwed on.

Quite agree, he seems to now understand "game management" and his performance against Wire was just outstanding.

Ref took a bit of a hammering
Having watched it back, thought Watts and Bowden were excellent in the second half. Massive effort.
