Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| Quote: silver2 "Now you know how Warrington fans were feeling about Thaylers performance last week. Then again maybe referees have always been poor and it's today's technology that's exposing them.'" Really?
We got the rub of the green in the 1st half, but he certainly turned the tables in the second.
And there's a bit of a difference between 50/50 penalty calls and disallowing perfectly good tries.

| Quote: mk_fc "Is this because if Kelly is playing it mentally takes some of the weight of Sneyd?
Notice his place kicking has been poop when Kelly is not playing. Could well be down to him trying too hard to do too much.
Sneyds line attacking has been really good, but to the detriment of his kicking game.
I want Kelly back to take some of that pressure of Sneyd (although wiht both Connor and Abdull there he should really not be that pressured....)'"
Not the point I was going to make but it would have helped.
As pointed out earlier in the thread, we had plenty of possession close to their line, I feel Kelly would have the craft and speed off the mark to have got over the line. This would have given us a different option in attack. Sadly, our attack close to their line was quite predictable.

| Is JA a better option than Connor at 6, different types of player, I think JAwould take more responsibility at 6 than Connor does but Connor can do ok there and offers something different but alongside Sneyd I think the combination of him and JA is better/more balanced and JA is a decent tackler too.
Prefer to see JA getting more game time and his hands on the ball more, especially if Kelly is moving on at season end which is more than likely.

| Thought all the younger players were outstanding last night.
Lane stood up very well and showed huge potential and didn't look out of place.
Masi was slow to get going in his first stint but had a very good 2nd half.
Logan played well after all the issues he's had re long injury lay off etc
Abdul really took the game to Leeds in the 2nd half and would like to see him at LF as feel he gives us more attacking options and more difficult to defend.
Fash again for his size made good metres and looks strong taking the ball in.
Also showed if we use Griffin better by getting him early ball he can do some damage to teams.
Was also pleased with Sneyds running game and taking the line again just think he was trying a bit too hard at times with his kicking.
Even though the result is a loss I thought that as poor as we had played in the opening 25mins we certainly could and should have got 2pts as feel we were very hard done too by Hicks/Bent-tham.
Very promising and think once we have the missing players back and better weather we will be up there as still a lot of rugby to play.

| ANother gallant loss
I remember under Agar we had 13 local players
Local players are great as long as we’re winning because we lost under Agar with local lads

still whining?
thaler penalised you in the first half correctly, you came to slow the game down so it would suit your 5 drives and a kick negativity

Silly comparison, as long as Radford wins more than he loses and keeps us challenging then you cannot compare with the Agar years.
It's ok playing young players the odd game, but it's about them playing SL to a good standard regularly which Under Radford it's happening

| I find it hilarious Hull fans call Leeds the Whinos, but cry like a baby whenever they lose, which obviously was the fault of the referee.

| Best team lost last night pure and simple. Your forwards constantly marched leeds down field. Really impressed with Jack Logan and hope he goes well as its been a hell of a long return from injury for him. Both sides had multiple players missing but I thought the second half was decent.

I thought leeds just about deserved the win due to better goal line defence and some quality when it mattered. I know both sides had players out but I think we had a lot more quality/important players to the team out than leeds did. We only have 1 hooker and he was out, our star half back out and 3 of our first choice props so for me we were harder hit and it's probably what made the difference in the end

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| Thought Hull gave a good account of themselves last night considering the players missing. After the first 20, I’ll be honest I thought we would win with a bit to spare, but Hull turned the tide. As a Hull fan I’d be gutted, because these are the sort of games that define your season, the four pointers. To lose two such influential players like Houghton and Kelly would affect any team, and I’d say Hull should take more positives from the game despite the outcome.

Quite, Cummings saying it was the Saints player impeding the Warrington player and that they were allowed to stand their ground, despite moving and despite holding their arm out and despite being 4 times closer than Ablett was to Griffin!
The inconsistency is utter garbage!

Sadly it's becoming par for the course at Headingley.
Maybe one day
