Quote: Rupert Pupkin "Only in your head and on this board I'm afraid!
well what relevence have you posted on a thread about lauaki?

all youve done is brought up o'meley, who has his own thread, then you say its fair game for a dummy runner to be taken out.

you also suggest that newtons 'head rubbing' and cockayne elbow was fair, due to them not getting any attention, then expect people to discuss things with you.

why dont you go on your board and discuss your coaches tactics?

Luaki should have been binned for throwing at least 3 punches on separate occasions! Very lucky to have stayed on the pitch, or is throwing punches acceptable now?

O'Meley has been a cheap shot merchant for a long time.

Teams have using the same tactics for a long time, getting the head in close to an opponent when wrestling on the floor, its nothing new. Leeds have been frighteningly good at it for a long time.
Nothing in the Cockayne challenge, he was trying to get to his feet, he had a player underneath him and a player on top interfering.

You wanted me to talk about Luaki and not O'Meley, so please tell us, should he have been sin binned or not?

Never said a grapple tackle was ok at all, I said teams have been using the tactic of getting a defenders head in close to an opponents head on the floor in a tackle has been used for a long time. Or is this the first time you have seen such technique?

O'Meley is a cheap shot merchant!

No question about it, he did catch Luaki with his elbow, you wont get an argument off me for that but intentional, you never now, the ref never thought it was anything more and I think he was right on top of the situation.

your still trying to say newtons tackle was ok? that short of tackle is not ok.

Lauaki should have been binned yes.

cockayne should have seen red and newton binned, if the ref had have made the call would lauaki reacted this way?

lets face it the ref was close to alot like hornes ball steal and knock on, murrells knock on, newtons head rub, and numerous over things he missed.

Look back on my previous posts regarding Newtons challenge.

Thank you.

Cockayne see red, no chance and Newton in the bin for a push in the back, no chance. Luaki shouldn't have retaliated, simple as but lucky for him, he was never penalised properly for throwing punches.

I agreed with Paul M's post yesterday

who was on about the 'push' in the back?

while retaliation in the game is out lawed sometimes refs give it some lee way because in some events natural reaction takes over.

if some one was choking you you wouldn't lay there till they've finished or the ref tells them to stop, youd react.

the same when some one plants a elbow on your head.

And Luaki's reactions as you have already said deserved a sin binning.

You see these things every week in every single match but its being highlighted due to the nature of the game.

Quote: El Chupacabra "Silverwood did see Cockaynes elbow into Lauaki's head, he said it was 'accidental'. You can hear him on the commentary when talking to long just after it happened and he'd given the penalty'"

I don't think he saw it. His words were 'if there's any contact with the head, it's accidental'. To me, that dismissive attitude isn't right. It was bordering on, 'you're a big lad so just deal with whatever treatment you get, regardless of the legality'.

Double standards here methinks. Plenty of people would have been applauding lauaki if he'd stuck one on newton or cockayne

Of course not, you daft f[sizeu[/sizeck. He should've been given three penalties, but Silverwood was too busy practising the more difficult of his nal of signals in case he needed to spring them out unnecessarily later on to notice the elbows, head-butts and constant attacks to the head of Lauaki.

He was probably scared to give the penalty in case Cockayne decided to push him to the ground and kick him in the head until it was purely a matter of luck whether or not he survived. You can be pretty certain that everything even bordering on illegal that Cockayne does is deliberate. More than that, he intended to do more damage, but he's too stupid to know how.
