As for Sunday I can't now make it..I've a 3.5hr journey home so belt up child'"
so that is the reason your been really out of order because you cant make it? well i am very sorry that a freak accident happened and someone could of died very inconsiderate of them ill pass a message onto the club to make sure that next time they set off at least 10 hours before to sit around and do nothing that's a good way to prepare for the game isn't it.

| The FC players left in plenty of time under normal circumstances, including fully accounting for heavy Friday night traffic
The FC players left earlier than the Bradord squad and were trapped between junctions
The club made every effort to get the game on, including trying to get individual players out of the gridlock
Both clubs wanted to play the game, but it wasn't possible
All agreed to postpone for 2 days, giving a better quality contest
The extent of some fans' insistence on blame and negativity is ludicrous.

I hear about the M62 and it's problems on a friday all the time, why would you leave yourself such a small window when arriving earlier by a few hours should have no bearing whatsoever. By not arriving at all or risking that chance is just crazy to put yourself in that position'"
I spent about 15 years travelling from Leeds to Hull on Friday evenings and the motorway has only fully closed due to an accident on a handful of occasions. Tonight I attempted to make the journey over, part of the problem was the stupid motorway sign at the A1M junction stating a 15 min delay. There was simply not enough advance warning of the problems ahead, lets face it when you're driving up the motorway on your own you can hardly keep an eye on developments on Twitter etc.

The players are employed not owned.
Just the other week my son was stranded on the M6, due to all that snow. He was fortunate in that he got through after a few hours, but many others spent the full night in their cars. That would have been at least 14hrs+
Since we know that these things can and do happen, would you suggest that players (employees) set off at least 18hrs before a game (work)?
Perhaps all employees should set off several hours before they start work (just in case)

Tonights call off was unavoidable...... Our players were caught up in a serious accident. They were not late,
they were unlucky to be past an 'escape route' from the M62.
The club are not gonna refuse entry as long as there is a chance the game can go ahead. I was asked to hang onto my ticket 'just in case'. The stub wasnt ripped off and is still valid. I cant use it on Sunday as i'm working away...... but I'm sure i can redeem it at another game !
Maybe you should think before you post !!!!'"
if the players had left earlier when the traffic would have been quieter then they would have reduced the travelling time in any case and taken responsibility for ALL travel emergencies on a notorious stretch of motorway.
To defend the actions of such is just making a mockery of common sense..seemingly lacking from some FC fans...'"'"
I really hope you are take the .
That's like saying, my friend who worked in the twin towers should have rang In Sick the day he was murdered on 9/11.
Before you claim I have "bitten", well no I haven't,now run along and stop being a pri.ck.
Oh, and that "notorious section or the m62.????? Try the section between chain bar and Ikea. I doubt you could get a tooth pick in that let along an upturned tanker.

| There is an asteroid (asteroid 2012 DA14) due to 'supposedly' near miss earth on the 15th Feb @ 2.24pm.
We play Saints on the 15th @ 8pm.
Do you think we ought to bring the game forward (just in case)?

| Well I've come home, got together all my arctic-proof clothing and I'll be back at the KC at first light tomorrow. I'll also have my 2 man tent in which I intend to spend the weekend. Wouldn't want to be accused of not being ready, would I??

| I have my opinion and have given valid reasons, there's absolutely no valid reason not to leave earlier.
That people choose to make excuses for the bulls and the fc players makes me think reasoning is somewhat missing from many forum members.
As for the very few coming out with personal insults, grow up ffs.
As an aside, to the poster who said I was ed off because I now can't make the game Sunday, nope you're wrong. I'm not ed off at all. in fact despite some forum members frothing because I have the temerity to question the logic of leaving late friday afternoon for an event your partiiation was required at for 10000 fans indirectly paying your wages it amuses me that people just don't understand but have to come out with (not so)smart mouth responses because they don't have a valid reason for the players leaving earlier....lol

There was no valid reason for them to leave earlier either.

There have been comments made by James Clark and Peter Gentle that somewhat contradict each other which i dont think has helped the situation.
Speaking personally, i think the right decision was reached in the end. The most important people are the fans and the switch to sunday will hopefully allow all to attend.

yes there was a valid reason, more than a reason not too
...anyway as i said that people dont want to see it is up to them, that some are out of order with their responses is another indictment of the mentality of the forum at times

| Putting aside the fact the players were delayed etc why on earth are we not meeting as a team 3-4 hours before kick off to have a carb heavy meal and go through the final preparations for the match? If the West Yorkshire players are only setting off 4 hours before kick off how are they managing to carb load at the right time? I don't blame the players for being late I blame club policy for allowing for the possibility of them being late and seemingly not taking a particularly sports science based approach to pre-match preparations.
All this burning nervous energy twaddle is just nonsense anyway. The players don't have to necessarily be at the stadium 4 hours before kick off but they should at least be in the same city. Why can't they arrive 4 hours before kick off, sit down as a team for a meal, go through any last minute videos etc then all travel to the stadium together to arrive at the same time they do now ie 2 hours before kick off.

Why? I'm sure he is already fully aware of the concept of carb loading before a match since its accepted best practice for lots of sports.
