I am with you - another year - deadwood out - this all smacks to me of Pearson fretting on this for months and because of Thursday has had a hissy. Its going to cost him a lot of money cos no matter what some think PG would not walk away - would you if you had a contract. He owes Gentle a wadge.

| Look, Radford is a local lad and that's no bad thing. He's (allegedly) a Rovers fan, but so was Cookie and he scored the winning try in a CC Final. He will know how to get the team MOTIVATED and I'd have hated to be in the dressing room at Wembley if Radders was in charge.
Radford knows what the fans expect of him and I doubt he'll be anybody's fool in the dressing room. You only have to look at that derby game when he came out of retirement and blew Rovers apart with his runs and that memorable try.
We'd never lose a derby game again, I reckon.
Saints appointed Rush and Cunningham - 2 local UNPROVEN lads and they took them on a better run than Potter managed and Brown.
Give him a chance before someone else does. He will by dying to succeed in his own city.
The good thing about this weekend is it has shown Pearson is no Hetherington - he will not standby and accept that mediocrity. If he has acted swiftly and removed Gentle, then the least we can do is stand by while he rebuilds (AGAIN) our club with HIS money.

| It looks like Thursday was a watershed moment in our recent history.
I'm unconvinced if Radford is appointed, but I trust AP enough to make the right call. It's a big call if he makes it.
I like Gentle as a person, but for whatever reason, the consistency has been a real issue. What I have liked is that he hasn't been afraid to play young players in their natural positions (i.e. Shaul) when injuries have occurred.
Whatever happens, we will need to be better on the field because pass sales will be down this year.

| Radders and Cooke as a dream team.
But how long would they last before the power struggle occurs

| we complained about agar not giving youth a chance. when we get a coach who will give youth a chance ie shaul, lineman, crooks, green, bowden etc and having blooded these kids in preparation for the future (AP said our 19s arent great but our 16s are) we are contemplating getting rid of the coach. Then waiting 2 years for the new coach to "get his own team" we find things arent right and we sack him back to square 1.and people on here will talk of the good old days with kear and sharp etc

Radford has been around the coaching set up for two years and this motivation and will to succeed hasn't been in evidence. I fail to see how promoting him is likely to change that.

| It's happening , posted Friday radders head coach , last assistant . Cooke involved somewhere , not sure how or were . Local team local players is the motto . Personally not sure if it's enough to make us successful . Always thought Cooke might make it as a coach somewhere though . Did hear him as assistant at first but he's got donny job , unless he's got out of it .

| Just a thought here. I was told after immediately after the Wembley game that Gentle was going and Radford was taking over. If that actually happens can we be justified in thinking that Radford may have been undermining Gentle in order to get his job? I heard a rumour that after Yeamo was dropped at Cas a few senior players got together and told AP they didnt want to play for Gentle. I usually dismiss that kind of stuff as bollox but recent goings on have me wondering.

I also have been thinking along similar lines. Has Peter Gentle's authority been undermind by some within the club. Have all @ the club been 'pulling together' or have there been fractions & friction within the club & on Thursday the 'bubble finally burst'? I don't know, but listening to Peter Gentle recently there seemed to have been a change in him.

I was told a couple of months ago that Gentle already had lost the dressing room before the Wembley debacle .

Bones, I have no contacts @ the club or elswhere therefore this a serious question [not trying to be funny etc] as I am interested, do you happen to know how or why Peter Gentle 'lost the dressing room'.

Was told myself radford had been asked if he'd take over before the cc semi , which I thought was odd as gentle had got us there . Not sure if this was when yeaman was dropped . Radders rufused . That's when they was stufff in the daily star , so I suppose they was something in that .
