| Quote: Mild Rover "Turner was 22 last year, Arundel only turned 20 in August. They're at different stages in their developments, so I'm not sure that says much about what they'd offer you, looking forward.
Right now, I'd probably rather have Turner (long- or short-term). In a couple of years, who knows where there'll be at? It's a massively imprecise science.'"
But Turner has been shifted from Centre, to stand off, to Loose forward in his career with Hull and Salford, whereas Arundel is purely a centre. So those stats do look impressive

Arundal playing in much poorer team though?
I would presume that arundal has come about on Andy Hay's recommendation, who will have seen a lot more than him than PG.
Also if you compare the stats when they were both 20, arundal looks the better player in two poor sides.

rlTheserl are a fairer comparison IMO, showing both players at roughly the same age in seasons in which they mainly played centre. Who would you say looks the better player there?

If Turner did play centre that year, then fair enough

It was his last year before joining us and I think he mostly did, SLStats has him mainly down there too, with a few games at stand off.

Interesting, maybe he is staying, if he does signing arundal seems a bit pointless IMO, Martin's place in the squad should taken by crooks. With another youngster promoted take crooks place.

Am I stuck in some sort of time loop making similar points about 5 minutes after you?

| Great news if Jordan is now staying in Hull - unless Hull are maybe thinking ahead to Manu saying no, and us grooming Turner into a second row in the Manu mould??
Or - maybe they dont want to take a risk on Arundel. a lot of players, once they have badly done their shoulders, have it as a recurring injury - Toa Kohe Love springs to mind

If Turner does stay IMO long term he's about as good a candidate I can think of to develop into a Manu replacement. I still think his future is in the back row and he has the footwork and pace to match Manu. If he could add the brute strength and the offloading (which he's already good at) with it, he could be the line-breaking backrower we're fearing losing.

FFS, you're at it now, too!
And thanks, yesterday I couldn't remember Kohe-Love's injury for us.

| The stats are interesting but for me it's what I've seen Turner do on the pitch this season that is relevant. Players do progress at different rates in the early part of their careers. This season Turner has shown pace and ball handling skills more than useful for a centre to possess. He still needs to work defensively but all players have strengths and weaknesses. I was sceptical before this season but I can only go on what I see. I would be happy for Turner and Arundel to be at the club next season as well as Yeaman. Martin will go so Arundel would be a direct replacement.

| However, just because he's staying now doesn't mean he will neccessarily stay long term. Who knows, it's a more positive rumour anyway!
