He sounds full of energy doesn't he? Lots of love for Sneyd at the moment too, AP saying up there with Ellis as the best signing of his tenure although maybe not that surprising given he's a double Lance Todd winner. Can't see us getting a new stadium at all but I do think it's being looked at fairly seriously. Genuinely interesting hour, not a football fan but enjoyed some of the anecdotes.

| Great listen and shows just how lucky we are to have AP as our owner. He is a genuine honest guy who clearly just wants the best for the club, the fans and the city.
Think it was telling about the private equity bid and the way he feels the sport needs to move forward to gain more exposure and money into the sport.
I noticed he also mentioned that the club have signed the union trialist.
In regards to the stadium it is certainly something he sounds serious about. I would imagine the cost of renewing the leave will no doubt be a driving factor. Though interesting he made several mentions of the fact that there is currently a vast amount of available financial help at the moment which has probably brought the thought of a club owned stadium to the forefront of his thoughts. I’d even say if he got the right spot for a stadium and finance he’d likely do it. So it’s up to the council & SMC to make it an attractive option for the club to renew the lease. Be interesting to see what sort of response he gets from both. He certainly sounds to be focused and full of renewed energy for moving the club forward.
What was also telling and a sign of the type of guy he is was he mentioned about being the custodian of the club which just shows he understands what it means to own a sporting club and the responsibility of that.

Any elaboration on the vast amount of available financial help? Was it in the form of private investors?

| Malase does seem to have set in at the KCOM all round sadly, the Allams seem content with City running at League1 funding levels and are likely to keep bouncing between League1 and the Championship until they sell up.
It's not in the SMC's interests to make a profit because they have to share profits with the Council (so as we know accounts are managed creatively between City and the SMC) so hosting extra events isn't really an interest for them.
HullFC have to share ticket revenue after a certain amount (7k or 8k) so it's often not worth our while doing cheap tickets or a marketing campaign as the marketing spend it outweighs the extra revenue.
It's a shame as the stadium has brought a lot to the City. I very much doubt City would have reached the Premier League and us win 3 Challenge Cups without it.

| Whilst i can fully understand the stadium concerns that Adam expressed we dont need another stadium in Hull.
With Hull City for sale the best option for Adam would be looking at finding either the finance to purchase the club or looking for a small consortium to fund the purchase.
With both clubs controlled by Adam then most of the stadium problems would go away and the council in my opinion would be far more willing to do deals with Adam with regard to the surrounding land development and the stadium itself than they currently are with Pinocchio Allam.
I am certain fans of both teams would back this and provide the clubs with as much money as they can afford by buying pre season passes and club clothing.

I agree, the cheaper option may be to buy City and have one person with genuine sporting interests running the two clubs and stadium, with a collective benefit.
The stadium lease may still be an issue, but perhaps down the line their may be scope to renegotiate terms or buy the Council out.
I also support both clubs, so would rather see harmony break out for the geeater good. Adam would bring this if he owned everything.

| It's a very enticing thought of our own stadium a few years down the line. No more of the crap we've had to endure like weeks in summer with no home games, temporary squash courts ruining the pitch, club memorabilia taken down, stupid tiger wall paintings etc.
The KCOM was a great stadium but it's looking very shabby now and the area around it especially the walk from Argyll Street is an eyesore.

| The problem is that AP is not "rich". Sure compared to myself and other posters he is very comfortable but compared to the Allams he is poor who compared to the owners of Manchester City are poor. It's all relative. The latest guide that we may have to the cost of a new stadium may be the cost of Hull KR's North Stand which cost circa £8 million nearly 10 years ago for 2,000 seats. So 4 such stands would cost a minimum of £32 million without allowing for inflation and a capacity of 8,000 is not big enough. Even with free or low-cost land, it cannot be built without some serious financial backers and these backers will want a return on their investment. The Council won't be able to help; they're strapped for cash so that leaves supplying the land. And selling land at less than the market value may be illegal. I heard probably 5 years ago now that he had explored the possibility of building a stadium on the site of the old Birds Eye factory on Hessle High Road but I don't know how true this is. But with only 7 years left on the lease he has to move quickly. As said previously the cheapest option may well be to purchase the football club.

| Don't you all think he's talking about a new stadium hoping to force the Allams into a better deal?

Yes I do, but I doubt it will have any impact. The council have had the opportunity in the past to get involved and had no appetite to do so, so I guess the Allams.will charge what they like.
