Quote: Anakin Skywalker "Well true.
You can see what is going to happen now though.
A team will scrape the 8 know they have no chance of the 4 and just prat about until the season ends.
My idea would have been that they keep the points difference (You would expect teams higher up to have a better one) and get an extra home game if they really want it to be 'every moment counts' or what ever it was.'"

Suppose the idea is that with increased competitiveness, there won't be such a gap. I personally think everything should be wiped out and start again, the original top 4 have an extra home game, don't see the problem.

To suggest that Bradford were supporters of Hetherington is ridiculous. Pearson stated that they were supporters of the RFL, I actually feel that Neil had a better take on this when he said that the whole sorry saga needed putting into the public domain.

The new structure is crazy, how can you have a middle league of 8 where 4 of those teams are operating with almost an extra £1m of resources?

I am all for more meaningful games but I just can't see this system delivering it. I don't think there has been any detailed research into the system and as such it is folly to push it onto all of us. To say it was voted in by the clubs is to insult our intelligence as we all know that Nigel and the RFL just forced it through.

If you are a championship club though, it at least gives you a chance, and put it this way, I would not be confident of beating some championship clubs!! (£1m extra or not!)

If things were wiped down to 0 points for the top 8, then like Anakin says, teams guaranteed to be in the top 8 early on will stop playing and wait for the split.

Keeping points and points differences going into the top 8, mean that every game in the regular 23 games is counting towards finishing as high as posible and making sure you're in the top 4.

Yep, that's a fair point.

I'm guessing pearson was alluding to the fact that Bradford were supporters of the RFL and their bed-partner Hetherington out of necessity, the club being beholden to them via the purse-strings attached to Odsal at one end and the RFL at the other. Bradford being miserably linked in the middle by the string looping ever-tighter around the proverbial.

As for Hudge having a better take with his hints at whistleblowing, well did he? Why not take the opportunity last night? I've heard Pearson speak on numerous occasions regarding this particular stitch-up, and his take has always been so frank that the collective intake of breath from his audience lowered the air-pressure by several bars.

On your last point, I think few outside Leeds, Wakey and Widnes would disagree.

thought Pearson spoke well last night. i agree with him about pass sales for both clubs if we dont back either club we wont have one to follow.yes this season has been poor ,yes we are fed up of promises, yes we want a successful club but unless we stick by the club and back them its never going to happen.

I don't think using threats is a valid marketing tactic!
