I agree. I don't think his defence is that bad when he's actually where he should be. He's eagerness to come inside and run the ball up is admirable but too many times he's found out of position.

| Would Sharp be better off switching wings with Briscoe? Not sure which wing he played on predominantly for Quins but i remember him being on the left when Dobson outpaced him last year and also up in Cumbria for the England game when i thought he was good. Perhaps he would be more comfortable there.
It certainly wouldnt affect Briscoe who is equally good on either flank.

Is that "we" as in us or "we" as in the sport?

His winger as in his opposite winger, the man he's supposed to mark.

In the middle of the field we don't man mark, but as a winger who 99% of the time is the closest man to the touchline it makes sense that it is the job of the widest man to mark the widest man on the opposite team.

Maybe so, although I seem to remember him playing on the left for Quins most of the time. Briscoe, as you say has played on both wings and has had really good games on both sides of the field.
On the subject of Briscoe how did he score that try against Wigan? Another piece of magic to add to the ever growing list. He has got errors in his game still but he comes up with some real special plays. Glad we got him signed up for as long as we did.

Why wasn't it Tickles fault for giving away a penalty while in possession of the ball?'"
Quite!
He made a mistake for the 2nd try but in the main has done well and should get better.

| Speaking of Briscoe, he has 2 more years on his contract after this one, would it be worth extending that deal for another 2/3 years to reflect his growing stature in the game so as not to lose him and while we (probably) still have some space left on the salary cap?

Do you think he'd sign a new contract now?

Suspect we've got him fairly cheaply compared to his market value now. When his contract's up he'll have a very high value (assuming the requirement to increase the numbers of British players is ever enacted), and most clubs would be interested. I'd offer him a long term deal right now but whether he'd be interested is another matter.

I very much doubt it, I guess the one thing that we can be happy about is that we don't need to worry until 2013, Agar will be gone by then, please!!!

He played left wing against Hull last year at the Stoop.
I do remember him giving James Haynes a hard time at Craven Park a couple of years ago on Sky Sports when Quins thumped Rovers. Sharp scored and I am sure Haynes played right wing?
Maybe a switch would benefit him.

There you go i have sorted the problem for Agar, Sharp it would appear by our memories is more comfortable on the left wing. I wonder if it is something that Agar has even discussed with the player?
