Quote: Chris71 "Agree with you there, as I put on another thread the only issue for me is do we have a choice as for me washy offers nothing as the replacement for Houghton and I think that does hamper us. Maybe Long will step up his performances now he has a real threat for his starting position?'"

couldnt agree more mate!! washy is, and always has been, a poor player. If he were released by FC it would surprise me if anyone else would have him...as for Long...Him with Horne should provide us with some real attacking options...however Obst is dynamite for me and if i had to choose it would be Obst.

A big win and nothing less against Wakey for me...i say FC by 30

I want Long back in the team to play alongside Horne. Obst should be used off the bench to sub Houghton and be used as cover for the stand off/ scrum half roles. Obst coming off the bench with fresh legs will no doubt cause problems to a tired defence.

As long as horne and Long stay fit its probably the option Agar will go with...quality little player tho...already a fans fave icon_cool.gif

IMO Obst has just shown more than Long has tbh and think it would be a waste to use him off the bench as think he offers an awful lot more to us on the field for a longer period than sat on the bench.

For me Long has been disappointing so far and would prefer to see Obst stay with Horne but as was said on another thread is it feasible to have Long on the bench, then when Houghton comes off for a breather bring Long on and move Obst to 9?

Longy may have a talent and seen and done just about everything in the game but here at Hull he has yet to prove himself as his performances have been average to poor to say the least.

Hmmm and all the money you have spent makes you a good side eh?

Dont think so, I really don't think we will beat you but our squad gives 100% does yours? with some penetration in the opposition quarter we are not far off.

Happy to be wrote off but beware

It's not a case of writing you off and I'm sure the players won't be taking you lightly, however after 1 win in 5 we really need to start stringing some wins together to get up into that top 6. With all due respect we shouldn't be losing to you when you look at the respective squads.

I would go along the line of IF IT WORKS DON'T FIX IT

Keep Horne and Obst at 6 n 7 and Im very critical of Horne as a half back but the partnership is working and they are both getting enormous praise...I'm happy to be proved wrong about Horne. leave him there and if he keeps it up we are the ones benefitting, and I and others won't mind having egg on our faces.

Stick Long on the bench and put him to hooker when we spell Houghton. Tough titties if he don't play 9 or he may not like it. He needs to step up to the mark like Horne and Obst have to get his place back.

Don't break up our best working half back pairing for LONG LONG time (excuse the pun).

HORNE n OBST 80 mins every week at halve.

golden rule of team selection - don't drop players who are in form - obst and horne to stay at 6 and 7 and develop their partnership further

also obst is against his former club and will want to do well.

we'll out muscle them in the forwards and hopefull play some attractive stuff like we did at times against crusaders

hull by 20 (assuming its dry)

I'd have Long on bench for washy otherwise id be happy with rest. Big sam spellong O Meley, Lauaki spelling radders, Manu spelling whoever in back 3, Long to spell Houghton, and leave our halves to play full game there.
