| Quote: barham red "AS I say I've not seen a great deal of him only the sky games and the derbies but he seems in a similar mode to paleaasina in that if a team target him, two / three times in a row he will struggle to get into the line and tend to either leave a hole or give a pen away. I might be being harsh on him as I've maybe seen him play 7 or 8 times.'"
So what you're saying is you've never actually seen any evidence of these deficiencies but because he's a big impact prop you just assume he's lazy and can't tackle?
Last year he averages:
Tackles: 15.7
Misses: 1
A much better tackle to miss ratio than say Joel Clinton for example.
Carries: 11.6
Meters: 92.2
He concedes 1 penalty every three games and when you throw in his tackle busts and offloads his stats more than stack up to any of your front rowers.

| You'll find that most players cancel each other out, if we were asked the same question, we would probably say Dobson, Webster and maybe Galea, the rest you would say stick with what you know.

Based on coaching ability alone I would take Morgan over Agar. When it mattered in the play offs he did a right proper job on us and embarrassed us at home.
This is not an Agar bashing post but merely pointing out your view point holds no water.
Sorry.'"
Holds no water with who ? You.
Morgan slipped down the league 3 places, Agar moved up 5!!
Remind me again how many finals has Morgan got to in SL..
Also Agar has prodcued Tom Briscoe & Houghton, who exactley has Morgan produced ?

To judge realistacally you have to look at where HKR where when Morgan took over and what he could reasonably be expected to achieve in the period he has been there. 5 years ago HKR where a NL1 club, he has took us up, kept us there, managed a 4th place finish and although last year we slipped 2 places, we managed to get another monkey of our backs.
Expecting any coach to win something within 5 years from that starting point is a bit harsh to say the least.
Morgan will need to either win something or seriously challenge (finals) in the next 2 years to be seen as still progressing
I'm not going to bash Agar as he's one of the few Enslish coaches in SL, but his chinning bar was set higher due to the position of the club in the last 5 / 6 years and i think his failure so far to bring in cover for your pivots could be a fatal blow.

That's a serious accusation. Do you have any evidence?

I think morgan is a better coach than agar in ever aspect, from tactical planning right through to man management. Still wouldn't want the egotistical tw@ at Hull though

| For a large period last season we had Webster,Welham,Colbon & Briscoe out. This left us massively weak in the backs hence the signing of Craig Hall to add some depth to the backs this season. We had Sam Latus playing a fair few games when he's coming through the academy as a Loose man and had to loan a centre from another club. Not ideal but needs must.
Now lets look where you've gone in the last 5 years and compare it to where Rovers have come from then we'll ask the question as to which club has progressed more under there relative coaches.

Hull have signed teenage brothers Tom and Jack Briscoe from Featherstone Juniors amateur club.
Jack has penned a two-year deal and Tom has agreed a three-year contract.
Tom, 17, who has scored five tries in the club's three pre-season trial games, is a centre or winger while Jack, 16, is a full-back or winger.
Coach Peter Sharp said
Who did Agar produce?

So in three years(ish), Agar has had no impact on Tom Briscoe's development, despite him going from the youth teams to an England team regular?
Absolute one-eye.

I've no doubt Agar has impacted on Briscoe's development but that wasn't the question. BB stated that Agar produced Briscoe which simply isn't true. On signing for Hull Fc under then coach P.Sharpe he was looked at as one of the hottest prospects in the game ALREADY.
