Is our conditioning team a problem? Another area Pearson is doing on the cheap? We can't constantly be getting this many injuries each season through bad luck....look at the difference being at a well resourced team made to Tom Johnstone, constantly injured at Wakefield, constantly playing for Catalan

Thing is, there's having a dig, which the majority of players will do, but I don't think Lane should be in our first team, that effort on Vaughan last week showed why. If we released him today ,which super League team would sign him up?

Quote: Cuddleclub "Agree with this, how many of those tackles were 2nd or 3rd man in, still counts as a tackle. Also I’d suggest that he made that many tackles as teams are targeting him because of his flat footed defending. Paul Vaughan made about 20m post contact meters off one carry with Lane and hoy in the tackle.'"

Vaughan was excellent but he was in a dominant bigger pack
Playing with one man extra.
Lane was in a beaten pack with young kids…
Some of the young kids were brushed off tackles in the later stages.
If Lane only made 34 tackles, instead of 54,
then who would have have made the other 20 tackles for him..
If he’s made 2nd man or third man tackle, then would the attacking player have released the ball out of the tackle..?

He’s not been targeted , he’s having to do extra defensive work with Houghton missing and cator too.
If we apply your reasoning then does that mean teams target Houghton every game when he makes 50 tackles.

It really does baffle me why posters keep criticising the kid.
He’s a hull local lad playing for the shirt and giving it a go.
Yes we all know he’s not international class but looking at the squad, I can’t see many “ international class “ players..

I’m sorry but his performances are not good enough.

I get no pleasure from pointing out this fact and would love him to eradicate these errors and get back to the form he showed in his early days.

He used to be a decent Super League forward.

He made a poor attempt at tackling the young stand off in the lead up to their first try. This was in the first 10 minutes.

Echo all this, showed so much promise early doors, but he’s nowhere near good enough as it stands. Far too many mistakes, errors etc

Lane is now a back up 2nd row. He isn't great but no point banging on about how a back up player isn't good enough. If we are going to replace him then the interesting question is with who? Who could we bring in who is better?

We are nil from 2 and finished 10th last season
It’s not all down to Lane, is it?
Personally think some folk have a downer on him.

What a stupid statement icon_lol.gif did I say it was all down to him. It’s down to our recruitment being poor and being well under the cap. I have a downer on him because imo he’s not good enough. Entitled to my opinion which it seems many share about him.

Not surprised, was a pretty flippant appeal really, fair play for trying.

Think the club were lucky they didn’t get the ban increased.
Strange decision to appeal.

I think people are saying lane isn't the greatest and never will be. But we are asking this team to leave nothing on the pitch. Certainly lane hasn't done that. The kid isn't a world beater and I think we need better. But ATM hes getting stuck in and doing his best to his ability.
