| Pearson said he will invest in the club from top to bottom until a successful team is on the pitch and only then can he start to think about profits, thats what a fan of any professional team in any sport all over the world should be more than happy to hear.

However I applaud Pearson's comments, for far too long we have being a club who has accepted Mediocre and Pearson is simply stating that no matter who you are, if you don't perform you will be replaced. We are not going to win SL this anyway so if his comments upset this squad (which is likely to be broken up in three months time) then so be it.
Mediocre is no longer acceptable and I think that is a good message to send out there.'"
All valid points but there is a lot to play for this season yet. Let's not write it off now in the hope that everything will be better next season.
If Ap's comments motivate the players then all well and good but what if they have the opposite effect?
TBH if we lose tonight its hard to see where our next win is coming from. We will be looking at an 8th place finish at best IMO. If its effectively "season over" what effect will that have on the walk up spectators? Won't they decide to keep their money in their pockets and wait until next season before returning? I'm sure AP doesn't want that. However if we can win tonight it will give everyone a real boost and we can finish well, possibly ending up 6th.

Absolutely, we are coming to the end of our tough patch of the regular season and with players returning towards the end of the season I really believe we can get 4 wins at least. That would take us to 30 points and be more then enough to be in the top 8 IMO, from there its one game at a time.
Having looked at other teams fixtures around us they are pretty tough so I can't see them making anymore then 30 points.
This is all easier said then done though.

Plenty of players read this forum. Some even post (or at least have done in the past).

Possibly. Or alternatively we might only win two of them.

I just find it disappointing that people are talking as though the season is over, Pearson wants us to be a better and more consistently challenging side, doesn't mean we shouldn#t push for the playoffs whilst we still can.
We need to keep Dobson quiet tonight, KR aren't better than us if we do that.

Exactly. Its only July FFS. We should concentrate on getting the best out of the current players this season before we worry about who will be playing for us next season.
My concern tonight is that their pack will steamroller ours and lay the platform for Dobson and Green to cut us to shreds.

We have the ability in the squad to win 5 of those games!!!
We will always be up against it against Wigan and Catalan are not the same team away from home, the others are all very winable.......

He was right in the end: |
|
| Another thing which Pearson may have been hinting at with his conference.
As we are vastly overpriced now for the stuff thats been churned out on the pitch, he knows he cant reduce prices. So when he announces a "price freeze" in Sept it will be with a "better product".
It'll be interesting if Rangi does put "bums on seats" as the man says. Will those bums happily pay £24 a game?
He must be looking at Wire how thay have their income up at over £6mill a year.

4 wins has to be the minimum from that.

| Having had time to digest Pearson's comments and reading the various threads and posts on here, I am now more convinced than ever that AP's comments were, in part at least, a result of Seymour's attitude, as opposed to Seymour's attitude being the result of AP's comments.

mmm possibly
I do feel like Pearson's comments insinuating that the current halves not being good enough was something that Seymour was aware of before last Friday, however with Seymour not playing tonight it does look a bit suspicious

| Quote: Jake the Peg "You reckon? one win in 8 games, coming off the back of a big loss in France with a serious injury list added to 3 palyers gone from our original roster. Potentially foster and turner as a centre/wing partnership. Add in the public criticism of the squad by our owner plus the fact plenty of them won't be here next season.
rovers, on the other hand, have had a week off, have 4 players returning from injury and have more motivation than us. THey've lost some games recently but only by fairly small margins and have been in much better form than us
Can't see anything other than an easy rovers win. Hope I'm wrong but I rarely am'"
