| I had a season pass for nine years, I wouldn't class myself as a fan; just enjoyed watching some league after moving here, and staying, for Uni. Stopped buying one after the dross served up under Agar's regime, I'm not bothered about a trophy winning FC, I'd just like to watch them be capable of mixing it with the big boys whilst providing some entertaining play instead of the tedious stuff of recent seasons.
On a different note; look at the difference in quality in overseas signings for next year between Saints and ourselves. Tells you all you need to know about our board's ambition, everything on the cheap.

So is that why John Kear is touted as a coach that can raise his players for knockout rugby?
Come on admit that you're working for Hull FC and are just one here to inject some Agar positivity. Anyone with even an ounce of RL would know Agar is in so far over his head. I'd put my house on the fact that if we let him go, only a NL1 club would sign him up.
Glad I'm out of the country next year as buying a season ticket to watch his dross week in week out would have sent me to the Humber Bridge!

How are there overseas signings better ? Laffranchi ? Good player but if we signed him sure you would say had his best days , not many times do we sign a 27 year old halfback just need a proper coach

| Quote: Wytchfynder General "Its common knowledge that we are unable to perform against the better sides during our current coachs tenure, however I wondered what his record is against the less successful sides and based on the period 25th May 2008 to the present excluding cup games (which isn't pretty reading in itself), we have the following overall win ratios against SL sides;
Bradford 63%
Castleford 63%
Catalans 50%
Crusaders 75%
Harlequins 83%
Huddersfield 29%
Hull KR 40%
Leeds 0%
Salford 83%
St Helens 36%
Wakefield 42%
Warrington 17%
Wigan 17%
(Based on both home and away results)
So out of 13 opposition clubs we have a 50% or better win ratio against just 6 clubs, which I guess tells us what we already know; that we are a lower order club that will occasionally make the playoffs. What is surprising, is that we have such a low win ratio against those giants of superleague - Huddersfield (29%), and that with a 42% win ratio against Wakefield, it was probably a poor decision to release John Kear
A very fair and analytical appraisal. If this had been carried out after one season it would hold little significance. However, over three seasons it really tells a story of failure.
Just look at our strike rate percentage against the current top four. It currently stands at less than 25%. Therefore, we lose 3 in 4 games against the current top four under Agar and people claim we are a possible top four team.

| Answer to the thread question= NO. I think our chances of finishing 8th are looking dodgy (bottom half of the league!!) so our chances of winning a grand final is virtually nil, think our chances of getting to CC cup final are pretty slim as well but if we did it would be just like 2008 all over again. i like to think of myself as an glass half full sort of guy but surely its last orders and time at the bar now, surely its time for change now!!.

As a matter of interest, how cheap is Agar?

| I must have too much time on my hands but using the figures above, under Agar we have a current strike rate of 30% give or take against the current top 7. If you assume KR take eighth from us some time soon, we have a strike rate of 32% against what would be the current top eight.
That is pretty damning in my opinion we win 1 in 3 three games or less against the better teams that we are competing against for the top eight. We can't even state we have a right to be in the top eight with figures like that.
It's information like this and the fact that Agar's win rate is about to fall below 40% that makes you wonder what do the BOD use to evaluate his performance.

Yes but when Macca gets the boot at the end of another 4 nations debacle the RFl will snap up Agar and we will go for the cheap yet rubbish Macca.

Whilst I agree you clearly have too much time on your hands, if these figures are true (I am far too bust to be a rsed to check) then its further evidence if it was needed that he is way out of his depth. It also reinforces my stand not to spend money watching his team. Don't anyone even come back to me with the "old faithful in any kind of weather" poop. It all clearly indicates that we are NOT a top club despite the crowds and profits etc. But when all is said and done regardless of me and others not spending our hard earned, regardless of this forum just a handful of people run the club and until they smell the coffee we are stuck with him, Webster, Last et al. That friends is the status quo and will be for 12+ months or more I fear.
