From the disallowed obstructions that I've seen this year I don't think i've seen one where the obstructed player actually locks arms around the runner. They all tend to push off in an attempt to get to the man with the ball. For mine Ellis just makes a really bad read, he attempts to tackle mini which is why I think the ref let it go.

Why do the Rfl insist on making the obstruction rule so complicated , if the video ref as to look at 10 replays to decide , it's clearly not an obstruction. I think most rugby fans can take 1 look and decide if it's obstruction or not , it's pretty obvious , just got a bunch of numpties complicating it

Don't know its the rule itself that's too complicated. Problem is that all teams run plays that are running very close to the definition of obstruction without being quite there, and to respond defences are blurring the line further by over playing their response to suggest that there indeed was obstruction. All this of course is another example would of what would be easier to deal with if we had 2 refs.

I wonder what Powell thought about the clear knock on from Shenton in challenging the kick before Turner scored.

What a good looser Powell is, Hull fans should be grateful that Lenny doesn't sit and whinge about Refs like that, only moan about things you can control/influence.

Powell is trying to claw something back after 2 comprehensive defeats against other top 4 candidates in their last 3 games.

I can't remember Powell grumbling much about the officials after the home game they won earlier in the season - there were a couple of howlers in that. Referees are error prone but not inherently biased (unless its picking on the poor old dobbins of course). It might be hard to take a tough call at the time but they do even out over the season.

Radford mentions the referees decisions plenty of times, he usually says something like "baffling", I'm not saying he directly states these are the reasons for a loss but the mere fact he like all other coaches mention the refs frequently in that manner is in fact an admission (or moan if you will) that the referee had an influence by their decision making on the result.
Frankly I don't care if coaches moan about refs, what I care about as do many fans is the inconsistency of refereeing and the inability to deal with the infractions. By not dealing with them all the time you end up with players and indeed coaches just pushing the boundary of the laws and thus we have the spectacle that we have. Fans moan about letting a game flow but I for one would rather have 60 penalties a game (similar to what has happened in NRL early doors this season) with the refs pinging all sides all the time for the same infractions if it meant in the long run the game is cleaned up and coaches/players didn't take the micturate in how they play or coached to play. That makes it easier for the officials, it's easier on the eye to the fans and players are also less frustrated by what they feel other sides are getting away with.

The whole aspect of how the game is played and how we view it is controlled by the officials but also by the players/coaches who are trying to cheat the system as much as they can get away with for their benefit, you only have to look at the 'leeds' forward pass, too often let go by officials and so why change if you know 9/10 the officials won't do dick about it but it gains you an advantage on the field.

As a Cas fan, really cannot see what all the fuss is about.
There may have been one or two contentious decisions, there always are.
At the end of the day best team won,simple as.
