The clubs not abandoning signing players from outside of Hull (British or beyond).'"
Good post Doc - not that hard to understand is it ?

I was talking about players, not coaching staff. I've said previously that I don't think the philosophy should extend to the coaching side of the club (it's not working with the current regime). A quality coaching staff is needed and they could be from Timbuktu for all I care. If they are of the right calibre then they could easily develop the players... and get some decent results from the first team in the process.

Standee, I'm not a blinkered apologist (apologies if that wasn't aimed at me). I don't think Radford is the man for the job and I think we need a better quality coach. I also think that that coach should be able to bring his own coaching team from top to bottom.
I do, however, think that developing and building a team around players from our youth setup is something worth pursuing. I also think that if it proves too difficult and the players aren't of the sufficient calibre that the club should abandon that plan. However, player development takes time and will not happen overnight or over one season. We need to have patience in this area (as a club and as fans) to see if it can come to fruition or not.

was definitely not aimed at you, as I say, few in number (4 I think( but frequent in posts.
some of us have been SUPPORTING Hull FC for many years, and some are recent comers who profess to know everything, I'd imagine most of the sycophants never travelled to Whitehaven in December

But this is the problem, Pearson believes the Club Hull theory starts with the coaching staff, he believes he made a mistake with Gentle, perhaps he thought Gentle wasn't passionate enough and didn't 'get' the Hull thing. He's looked at Wane and McDermott and thinks he can replicate it here.
Problem is, there's more Wanes and McDermotts around the rugby league heartland but it's a very small ballpool if you look at the cul de sac that is Hull. There's Radford and McNamara and, umm... Cooke? Even Chester's from Wakey. It's just not practical. It's like the English wringing their hands that we are unable to produce a champion tennis player. The reason is it's an elite sport available only to the monied upper classes who can afford the private tuition and have the contacts to get them into the 'top' tennis clubs. Doesn't make their kids good players, just means the group from which the 'champion' is to be plucked is very small and therefore unlikely to produce the required talent. Compare that to Europe and America where most children have access to the right facilities - more kids taking part means more talent likely to be spotted.
It's simple maths, and the formula applies equally to our dilemma. Hull is too small an area to produce an abundance of world class coaches.
Do agree on fhe playing side, our core team should be developed via our youth side to our culture and style. But Pearson's recognised that from the off and immediately put plans in place to address that. But I think what he means by 'Club Hull' is definitely the coaching side consisting of passionate local talent too. I just don't think it's do-able here. Would you even call McNamara (currently 50% of what's available, or can anyone think of any others?) passionate about Hull? Would he even want to come here?

I agree. Pearson's been misguided with the coaching staff part of the equation. He's definitely looked at Wane and McDermott and decided he wants that. Radford was probably the closest thing we could get to someone like that. Problem is is that he's not got their coaching experience and I think he needed a few more years under his belt as assistant before getting a chance at the top job.

List the folk who it was aimed at then - just for the sake of clarity.

Agree that the "Club Hull" idea has always included the coaches in Pearson's mind. It's certainly the side of it I would like to see us drop as I do believe "Club Hull" is achievable on the playing side. Regarding McNamara I don't know if he is passionate about Hull or would want to come here. Would we want him though?

And there we have it.
I rarely waste my time with you as your posts never deserve bothering with however just occasionally it's as well to remind you what a complete you are. You come on this Rugby League forum dropping in stupid little digs and trying to compartmentalise people based on opinion. That's the funniest thing going because in actual fact you're about the only one on here with no worthwhile opinion. It's a RL forum which immediately leaves you disadvantaged as you know nothing whatsoever about the intricacies of the game. You'll snipe and name call from the side lines where you feel comfortable but when it comes to decent debate about players/tactics/signings/performances etc. you're nowhere to be seen because quite frankly you just don't know enough about it. This has nothing to do with the current coaching malaise etc. - it's a general comment about everything that you pontificate on.
Look at your reply to me. "stop picking battles when you would never actually fight them". What a load of total and utter tripe you write down. To call you infantile would completely and utterly insult children. You're like the irritating kid in the playground who no one really likes who has nothing useful to say or add to the debate but instead tries to poke and prod and dig. Occasionally you'll throw in a real side splitter like people attending a Radford barbeque wearing knee pads. Only just got over that one myself what a comedy gem. Possibly only surpassed by that laugh a minute apology you issued a while back as though anyone actually cared what you wrote (sorry I can't remember the details but that's the case with all of your posts).
If someone puts an alternative opinion across to yours on here they immediately have to be tagged as an 'apologist' or something of that ilk. It'll be "their fault the club's in this mess" etc. Same old garbage recycled post after post. Why don't you get into the "I'm a better supporter than you" debate again - that's always a staple for you to regurgitate the same old crap post after post.
I differ in opinion to others on here - some more than others. I don't call them names or talk about not daring to fight battles and I always respect their opinions. If you reply to someone why not put a meaningful point across instead of just the usual primary school crap like your reply to me above ? If you're not a child then grow up and stop acting like the failed school bully. It's pathetic. Enjoy your comeback on me but as I stated above I wont be replying as I can't be d wasting any more time on another one of your posts for a while. I'm sure like many others I'm often left kicking myself for having wasted my time reading them to start with.
