| Quote Big Dave T="Big Dave T"Briscoe, Byrne or Hall to play there next season, Briscoe would be my preference at the minute both defensively and in attack.'"
I'd choose Hall every day of the week. Our best attacking player, and yet we leave him out when we have the worst attack in the league. It doesn't make sense to me. Backs of:
Tony
Calderwood
Yeaman
Hall
Raynor
Horne
Dykes
Is just the equation for plenty of tries. Hall is the only bed defender out of those, and even then I would only consider is defence inconsistant

Whilst i agree the dropping of Hall annoyed me greatly also i now think Briscoe must be developed into one of our centres for the immediate future.
He reminds me so much of Schofield at that age. I know Schofield came into a supreme team full of experienced players which is different to what Briscoe is doing. But i still feel he has similar skills which must be utilised now.

Agree, Briscoe is a good player, but at 18 still developing both physically and with his game. He needs a good centre to learn from. If thats the right side partnership for next season then Leeds, Saints, Wigan, Bradford will all exploit it

I'd go with that, think using Briscoe week in/out would be a mistake. Don't want to burn the guy out but he should be first one in should there be any loss of form or injuries. After than I would use Byrne, although Byrne will get the nod as he occupies a quota space
Horne/Whiting I would rather see used in the back three of the pack.

i'd go with that
i dont see everyones problem about defence remember we've got crocker and rich horne who can defend between them
calderwood horne hall crocker
on the right wouldn't be as bad some are saying.

| Quote Chris28="Chris28"Raynor?'"
Possibly not.
Before his injuries, Calderwood was always faster than Raynor. I remember Raynor being all on for scoring against Leeds a couple of years back when somehow Calderwood caught Raynor up and, as Raynor was diving over the line, managed to knock the ball out of his grasp.
I hope he does as well for you as he did for us. After two years of injuries and Noble he deserves a chance.

| Giving Hall a starting centre spot for 2008 was a mistake. He will have learnt from this season, and with a good off season, ideally targeting putting a few kilos on and beefing up his defence, he will improve. We can't give Briscoe the pressure of a starting centre spot for 2009, or we will see his game suffer as Hall's did this season.

| Hmmm i dont' know, if you want to go all out attack then choose Hall or Briscoe, but if you want a more all rounded play choose G.Horne, if you want defensive choose Byrne as he offers little in going forward, the one who i think whould work well with Calderwood would be either G.Horne or Briscoe as they would have confidence in thier outside winger and bring him into play as often as they can. By the way i think that Calderwood is the best choice to be our winger:
1.English
2.Be on not so high wages after a spell at Wigan
3.Hes pacey, works his nutts off in defence to get back, and slows the play the ball.
4.Scores plenty of tries when given the chance short or long.
I think that Calderwood was the best option well done Richard Agar and Hull FC.

| Well I hope Calderwood is given a chance to prove himself before anybody gets on his back.Who knows,he may fit in at Hull as a player, more than he seemed to at Wigan.
