| Quote: Mrs Barista "Well, it's certainly part of it. I don't think it's lack of enthusiasm though. It's a combination of a lack of head coach experience and genuine leadership skills. The thing that probably concerns me as much as this, though, is what Ellis alludes to in the lack of mongrel/competitive edge-seeking across the club. We miss a rough-as-s prop, a niggly back rower like McMenemy, a nasty halfback seeking the advantage at every PTB.'"
Interesting that Radford had a good whine about Salford's aggressiveness and putting your players on their asses (His words) yet it's an area that you and Ellis identify as what is needed at your Club. Since Harris has come in he has upped the aggressiveness and hard hitting. Using defense as a platform. Considering the constant changes Salford has gone through pre and during the season we're finally starting to click. Some other posters have been unfair in suggesting that Salford are 'Garbage'. I'd hazard a guess that we'll finish above you this season looking at both teams run-ins.

I may be wrong (going off twitter updates) but I think Rankin was sinbinned for holding down after a break.

That was me, sorry. I was just pretty disgusted in truth with another poor performance from FC. I genuinely think that Salford were nothing special, and to get beat in the manner we did was depressing. I like Marwan and Salford and personally hope you do well. So no offense meant.

Unless you support bradford or london then chance are your team will finish above Hull so hardly a great accolade

None taken.
FWIW I thought our second half performance was very poor. Conditions were not great for both teams. I think it's difficult for fans of other teams to make judgement on another team fairly. After all, teams play differently every week. Sometimes they play fantastic and other times not. I wouldn't dream of commenting on Hull's team as I have limited time observing it. I could base judgement after watching you three times this season, but it still wouldn't be a fair assessment. You're opinion based on what you saw is probably fair for that game. We weren't that special I agree.

I don't know who should be more depressed at your statement, Salford fans or Hull fans.

I reckon if you took a random stab in the dark, you would have a more accurate judgement than Mr Radford

Professional foul - holding down after Salford broke downfield. You could see it coming a mile off.
It was an awful game - we never looked like scoring when camped down in their 20 in the first half. Then Chase intercepts and even Lancaster couldn't catch him.

Salford were certainly nothing special and there to be taken we were shocking and that 'fight back' as the Salford poster put it, was the same old, too little too late, but that last quarter served to prove how easily Salford could have been beaten if we were anything like a decent team, which we're not, in fact for 60 minutes our performance was a new low in a season of lows!

I don't for one second think that Gentle led anyone up the garden path. From where I'm looking it was he that was stitched up by his support staff and I'm sorry and worried that Pearson couldn't see what was happening and instead endorsed the undermining by solidifying the current regime. In my opinion.
What is certain is that a culture supported on pillars of deceit and betrayal can itself only fail. You reap what you sow and I think that's what we're seeing now.

That for me is a main point of concern Wilf in the fact that the team show what they can do but only when the game has gone. Question is why? I still believe AP got rid of Gentle far too early and that he has since appointed the wrong man to compound this.

I agree I don't think Gentle was leading anyone the garden path quite the opposite. He wanted to bring success to the club but was I believe struggling to get some of the players to buy into his plans. This I believe led to him being ousted by the certain players and dare I say it Radford. Now we are in a total mess with a Coach who is totally out of his depth and is clueless. Players who go onto the pitch with what appears to be no real game plan and now look shot as a team.
Yes we have issues in the middle but that's nothing new we've had this since Cooke left but even knowing this Radford has for me not improved any facet of our game. I would have thought he would have at least got the team to make angled & dummy runs and improved our support play to try and counter our lack of creativity but no we just plough the same furrow game after game coming up with Radford pleased with effort but lacking smarts.

McDonnell was a good signing, regardless of the rumoured nepotism. Miller was desperation in response to our scrum-half crisis (and possibly the lad was another who could claim to be led up the garden path?). Galea I'll give you, though .
Incidentally, it was McRae that was responsible for recruitment AND the accompanying salaries, wasn't it? I have no arguments with Legend's allegation of McRae's role in the garden path enticement.
