| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "If Gale is banned next week (I'm almost certain he will be), can we please just leave Connor at full back and play either McNamara or Hookem at 7. I don't think I can stomach seeing Shaul at full back again.'"
Offered nothing going forward, 4 mistakes and got beat the ball by Welsby for that try.
Was tough circumstances and first game back though, thought Mitch did well, put Mcintosh at FB maybe.

If you are talking about the same incident I think you are. I thought the same until they showed the replay and saw that Shaul had lost control before the push by the defender.

| 6-38, we got away lightly today.
With our current team, we were always going to lose this match. However, we don’t help ourselves:
- stupid by Wynne
- very stupid by Gale
This just needed a solid performance, keep the game simple and play the conditions. Increase our defensive line speed. Hopefully force some errors and hope to build some pressure.
We were playing the Champions with a weak side. Where in the game plan did someone say we get a player sin binned and one sent off. Both incidents totally unnecessary!
We have to learn and get better.
Hopefully we go better next week.

| We could have made it look prettier but that scoreline was more or less what I thought it would be. So considering we played most of the game with 12 men then it's not too bad effort wise.
Too many of our best weapons missing today to have had a say in that game.

| Not many positives, although Saints are top class, particularly their defence, it's brutal and two fantastic props. Unless they pick up a load of injuries, it's hard to see anyone stopping them.

Scoreline kept down because of the weather.

| I thought the first half was as bad as I've seen us for a long time, and one of the worst halves of rugby I've seen by us ever really. I know that sounds a little overdramatic but it really was awful.
Second half wasn't good by any stretch but at least we rolled our sleeves up a bit.
I think the best thing we can do after that is forget it ever happened and try to get back on the horse next week.

For those accusing Lomax of feigning injury and saying he was barely touched, brushed his thigh etc.

| Not the best Saturday afternoon I've ever had!
Pretty grim viewing.
I know it was his first game in awhile but Shaul was awful. Seems to have lost a yard of pace too.
Not many positives to be had from that really.

| Typical of us that we get Connor back from suspension next week and Gale will probably miss three or four weeks. What was he thinking? Definite red.
Thank goodness for the weather today as on a dry pitch Saints would have put at least fifty on us.

Exactly that. If you'd said at the beginning the final scoreline with the personnel we had missing and Gale off for most of the game I'd have taken it, but the lack of organisation and inability to make yards was disappointing. Errors and penalties were never going to let us compete.

| "Errors and penalties" - seems to be the same mantra as last year...
They really do need to cut them out.

Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.:Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG |

Saints usually dominate 4 out of 5 tackles in a set and attack using their defence, example 2 mins to go and Lussick kicks down field and we kick chase, first one there is our prop and your player is pinned 3 metres from the line.
As for the brain fart with Gale it was all down to the contact, the disciplinary will probably agree to the red and it will be the intent that will decide if he gets a further suspension.
Connor is a big loss to your team he would have caused a lot more problems than Shaul and Reynolds doesn’t have enough desire at times to create and spoils instead.
