| I was told back in may that Salford were in talks with Paea he was waiting to see if Hull KR could offer him the same deal as we were offering, The reds will be releasing upto 10 players at the end of this year. Patterson isn't coming to the reds by the way hes off back to the NRL and that's from our ex CEO.

If paea is too good for hull kr , it will be a massive slap in the face for them if he signs for Salford.

Paea will be thinking of his family first and if he's offered a bigger contract with alot more money he'll go for it. Like I say back in may Salford offered him a contract he wanted to see if Hull KR could match it (which would of been more than he's on this year) and now with the news he's leaving it seems that he can't?

| Salford, and there fans are making me laugh.
The only players they'll sign are mercenaries and cast offs from the NRL.

After years in the doldrums why can't their fans enjoy their new found and fame and fortune?
It's not like there's much difference between them and us when Pearson took over.
And if players want to go there because of the money on offer, then so be it, they have to earn the maximum they can in their short careers as would we, if we could do the same job for more money.
It's not too disimilar to Warrington and even us to a lesser extent.
Let them enjoy it. I think having more money in the game will only improve the competition.
There is no need to be condescending.

Fanbase, no.
Infastructure, don't know.
New owner with money, fans thinking we can go out and sign who we like within the cap, yes.
All I'm saying is why bag there fans for having the same aspirations as us.
Why not leave them to theirs and we concentrate on ourselves without making silly comments based on little or no facts.
I'm not here to have a go at you but see comments like yours as unnecessary.

Having money does not make you a big club. Salford will never be as big as hull or rovers, regardless of how much money they have.

Who ever said anything about being a big club? I know damn well Hull Fc are miles bigger than Salford. But being a big club won't always attract big players.
Look at Chelsea for instance there not a club the size of United,Newcastle,Liverpool or even Arsenal but look what money and big wages has done for them as a club. The last time Salford were champions in 76 we weren't a huge club but we had fanatical power and that helped us gain two championships, what I'm trying to say is just because good players are leaving it doesn't mean they have to go to a big club because Salford have the money now and the plans for state of the art facilities and so on are what will attract these players.

His manager has already said he wants to go to a big club so that rules Salford out of the running

I'm pleased for you. I know how much happier I felt since Lord Faulkner bought Hull. It was like waking up from a nightmare where you're in a grey tunnel that goes on and on and on, never changing, with no hope of any end to shed any light. Then I woke up on that fabulous day to Humberside radio and local telly news and it was like someone had blasted the tunnel away.
Stability and sensible strategic investment administered by a man who knows what he's doing, who doesn't mind speculating to accumulate - and knows that in this game that means the best team possible on the pitch. Thank you, Pearson. It'd be great to see a strong Salford, too, and I wish you luck.
But I'd rather Paea came to us!

Why? The Salford owner makes me laugh when he bangs on about breaking the salary cap and the whole trying to sign Tomkins and Benji palaver. Then some of their fans make me laugh the way they're going on virtually every board telling people that they've signed their targets or best players etc. the guy who was on the VT being a personal favourite.
They'll only sign mercenaries or NRL cast offs until Koukash delivers tangible results, and as Pearson found out (but probably already knew) that ain't going to happen over night. I don't read the MEN that often tbh, but I don't hear much about what he's going to do in terms of infrastructure at the club. He's also threatening to quit if he doesn't succeed in a set amount of time! That's just stupid.

Exactly, and in a salary capped sport the better players will always choose a Wigan, Leeds, Saints etc. over £10k or so, unless they're just greedy.

But then ask yourself, why is your best young player leaving?

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
