Didn't see the full games, but from the highlights Briers looked more influential with the more important input in their tries, even though it's Myler who tends to be involved near the end. Myler catches the eye at times because he's involved at the glory stage, the actual hard work (in a creativity/halfback sense) is usually done by Briers/Monaghan/Hodgson, and even Ratchford now.
He's very good at what he does, but that's a very limited range and not what we really need at this moment in time.

| Makes me laugh, us hull fans would't want a half back that as a realistic chance of doing the double with his current team!! I think every single hull fan would have had myler before Pearson took the reins, the expectation levels of hull fans has just been notched up to the ridiculous, BUT saying that chase, holdsworth pairing would be my choice, and so so exciting for next season, come on you huuuuuuuuuuullllllllllaaaaaaaaaaa

Quick question, how many cup or grand final-winning teams has Myler played in?

I agree. As a creative half he isn't as good as Richard Horne. He's playing in one of [ithe[/i most fluent teams in the league, and yet he still fails to impress as a play-maker.

Is that some sort of code I'm not getting?
Unless you're just pointing out other halves who haven't played in final-winning teams. If so, I was responding to a post hailing Myler as a potential double-winning halfback, and pointing out that history shows he isn't deemed good enough to play in those games and there's a good chance he won't again.

No one has said that Horne is an overall better player than Myler, so you're making things up now.

People on here have in the last 3 years proclaimed those as our HB saviours
They could get to the KC to sign deals due to being weighed down with winners medals
As for Myler, yes please, with a player who will put him away, (Westy and the other offloaders in the squad)
Sod it, i'd go for Eastmond too

To be fair to Horne, he'd played in and won one barely a month after his 23rd birthday. And he still has 2 Cup Final appearances to Myler's 0.

This is my point about Myler, IMO we are in far more need of a halfback who can put players through gaps than one who can follow them through and not much else.
