the original sandy, no aussie imitation!: |

| Quote: Chris71 "Hmmm and all have been sacked a few times too. Wouldnt touch Davies or McCarthy.'"
they have but in differing circumstances, look at davies sacking at derby, got them up with no money got sacked for not keeping them up with no money, a bit harsh that. jones and davies both got sacked for continually getting a team to the play offfs but not winning them, i reckon city would be happy with that. mccarthy has done relatively well where ever he's been on small budgets imho.
either way, with an experienced manager at the helm adam pearson's role becomes unneccessary

He was right in the end: |
|
| Quote: major black "I do feel for city and I as do many FC fans like city to do well but having read the Allams interview in the mail this morning it doesn't fill me with any confidence at all.
'"
You know what, I dont.
Remember when we was up the creek, all the City fans pouring support out for us, i think not.
We've taken enough cack off them "get off our pitch" "without us there would be no stadium" etc etc.
As for "we have been there" Well plenty of Hull fans in blinkers posted on here supporting Kath and Rule saying "remember where we have come from" "they saved us"
Shame they never listed to the posters who were telling it how it was, Kath and Rule were no good for us, end of.
In the context of City, as soon as AP left them first time they have gone downhill, AP should have stuck it out with Wilkinson, I bet Bartlett is laughing his bits off. As for Bullard, where is he?
Allam "we wanted to pay £40k per week for a player"
Allam "we cant afford a £40k per week player"

| Maybe he walked when he saw the new pricing plans
15% increase on season passes (roughly up £50 to £450-£500)

or maybe when he saw the actual loans of £50m as opposed to direct investment (remember, the financial year 2010/11 filing date was Monday)

That was hardly news though. There's apparently a thread on the City forum from shortly after the takeover stating that the 'investment' was actually a £51M 'soft loan' from Allam Marine.

| Got to say it was news to me until a couple of days ago. Looking at some of the reactions of City fans the week it has still come as news to a lot of them, too..
It's still interesting that the local media are still citing the £50M [iinvested[/i version, as are the Allams. If a bank lent a million pounds to a client, would they class it as an investment or a loan? If a body owned 2 companies, and used the assets of one to guarantee the loans of the second, would that be classed as the body investing in the second?
Either way, if the great Hull public knew that the £50M wasn't a direct injection from the Allam's personal wealth, would that have made the pursuit of the stadium for next to nothing even more unpalatable, given the philanthropistic justification touted?

I think most of them ignored it on purpose TBH.

Quite. A few lone voices have been saying for some time that the Allams [ipersonal[/i wealth isn't as great as has been made out, and most of the money they've spent around the city has come from their business interests.

| Paul Duffen's been slagging Pearson off on twitter rlhttp://twitter.com/#!/paulduffenrl
takes some time to read, but its entertaining to read how Duffen arrogantly trying to explain how he didn't spend all of City's money and leave them on the verge of extinction.
"Paul Duffen @PaulDuffen
@Grumpy_Tiger The owners are taking control and a few chickens are coming home to roost. AP has been the problem and a new dawn beckons. UTT"

He's revealing a fair bit there, Hope AP and many others have a look
Where else would you get a chairman spouting off about transfer deals?
On a bar stool possibly?

His daughters been having a go as well:
"Nick Wood @NickWood77
@MissCarlyDuffen any insight into what's going on at yours and your Dad's old club up North?!
Carly Duffen @MissCarlyDuffen
@NickWood77 Other than karma it's all very cloak and dagger at the moment - it'll all come out in the wash!"

In the Hull Daily Mail QandA session today they mentioned the £50m investment at least five times.
Thrice using the investment as justification for not "scrimping" on spending money on a decent player's wages (i,e, not stopping Pearson and Barmby from recruiting and looking forward to the summer transfer window).
Both Allams used the same phrase. First Ehab Q - There has been criticism that you have only wanted your hands on the KC Stadium and everything comes back to that issue. How would you respond to that?
A - Ehab - I understand the negative comments because of what has gone on in the club's past but if we were interested in property, we would have invested £50m in property. Would we really put £50m into a football club on a leasehold? Our interest is the football. The interest in acquiring the stadium was to increase the income for the football club, not for our personal gain. [size"[/size
When you are aware of the circumstances surrounding the "invested" £50M, it does undermine all of those arguments, rather. But I still bet the majority of people believe the funds to the the Allams' personal wealth because of the way it's been - and is still being - phrased from the off.
There were also an interesting couple of questions relating to Lord Faulkner Q - Can you give us an insight into the events of Monday? There was a lot of speculation around what was happening at the club. What is your perspective of what happened?
A - Ehab - We have had some issues in the past few weeks and we decided that we had to take immediate action, so we called Adam Pearson in, had a meeting with him, and we decided to terminate his contract.
Q - You said in a statement that his contract had been terminated and that no compensation had been paid. Was a contract place meaning a payment will need to be made to Adam?
A - Ehab - It has been reported in the press that Adam walked out due to concerns over Nick Barmby. That is not the case. We terminated Adam's contract on Monday with immediate effect.[size"[/size
The latter being a brilliant example of how to avoid answering a question by giving the answer to a completely different one.

Regarding your example with the bank, whether the bank gets loan notes or equity it's still an investment asset from the banks point of view.

| Those are some of the worst and most indirect "answers" I have ever seen. I'd rather have Kath back as chairman than the Allams!
