| Quote: Jake the Peg "I don't think so. My honest assessment of the giants is that they are a group of players, pretty much all of whom play at or near their best on a regular basis, who are well coached and have good defensive technique and some pace in the backs. Pretty much every big game you've played in the last 3 years you've lost. wire, wigan, leeds, cats and probably saints have better players than the giants but not all are as well coached. They do have more game breakers who have the experience and ability to turn it on when it matters.
brown has done an excellent job at hudds but I think he knows he will never win anything with you, hence his desire to move on for some time now. The most impressive thing about him is he picks up players that either no one else really wants (brough, brown, lee etc) or players from the lower leagues, and has a great ability to gel them into an effective and cohesive unit.'" Don't disagree Jake, when it comes to the GF. But that squad has been capable of winning the cup at least for the last 2 years.

Most squads in SL are capable of winning it but don't because there are generally 4 or 5 better squads around with better quality players

giants always remind me of a pace-setter in athletics when the 10,000 run is taking place, always at the front at the start then slowly drops off until nowhere to be seen at the finish line

| So the consensus is no -the squad isn't good enough as there are better squads out there. Good so when we don't win anything again-don't call us bottlers as the consensus is we aren't good enough to win anything. We have been accused of being arrogant and the rest - We at the giants have put up with languishing in the lower leagues for decades playing in front of 400 spectators. We lost a generation of supporters who didnt agree with the move from the old fartown ground. We were promoted to SL last minute when paris dropped out without the benefit of time to build a squad -we had a championship squad in the SL and got trounced every week and as a result no one wanted to sign for us and spectators couldn't be convinced to watch a losing side. And so we lost another generation of supporters. The rfl were desperate to keep us in SL for the stadium even though we wanted to be relegated to enable us to rebuild. They forced a merger on us which resulted in more supporters turning their backs. We have built our supporter base up which has doubled in the last half dozen years, we have gone from the whipping boys to a solid side in a relatively short space of time. Most of the supporters on here have gone through all that and frankly get p****d off when we still get c**p of supporters from other teams who still witter on about lack of trophies and poor support (which is actually now comparable or higher to the majority of teams in SL) now I expect the sarcastic aww bless remarks etc but I just wonder if your team had gone through what our s had in the same amount of time how would your trophy cabinet/ supporter base look?

In all fairness, you can't argue with that.
