I couldn't care about international RL so am pleased my club is using all avenues open to them.

Spot on...if the rest are doing it we would be stupid not to do the same.

I maybe contradicting myself abit because i want to see youth come through but at the end of the day i want trophys and success at this club...what ever gives us an advantage,than we should take it.

I disagree. It's totally against the spirit of the thing. Quotas are very difficult to legally enforce and rely on all clubs behaving appropriately. If every club tries to find a way around the rules as soon as it suits their purpose, the whole thing will fall down.

Good news. Let's hope we can take full advantage.

I should add that if this paves the way for us to sign Jonathan Thurston and we win the GF as a result, I will still be happy.

But what do we as a club gain from being moral when everyone else is looking for loopholes to bring quality in? Its not our place to enforce it..but i know what your saying about the legalities of it....i just think we should take advantage of it..

Yeah but that is not the clubs fault for this happening, the RFL should be clamping down on it.

Anyway isn't this rule only eligible to certain amount of players, meaning that in a few seasons times teams won't be able to get around the quota this way ?

We won't win anything by being too nice or morally perfect.

We gain from the fact that we're developing our own young players. At the moment there's hardly any talent coming through and we're having to find ways around the quota to compensate. That's a sad state of affairs given how things were a few years ago.

I don't think Wigan have had to flout any of these rules to win the competition, have they? Although they did fiddle the salary cap to stay in it...

I'll be happy with a GF win, of course I will. But I still would prefer it if we managed to achieve that without finding loopholes in the rules.

From a club point of view its the coaching staff that have stopped our youth coming through not the rules...theres an opportunity from now to blood some young uns as the seasons a wash out but it wont happen.

The fans are that disgruntled now I doubt they would satisfy for just watching the youngsters blood each week. We seriously need a big season to get this club heading in the right direction and all supporters singing off the same hymn sheet.

We can put all the youngsters in the team now they would just waste away and have there SL careers over before they've started. We have a coach who can't help develop them and supporters who are that desperate for some success go way OTT when a player makes a mistake. We as a club is not a good environment to be bringing youngsters through IMO.

A competitive and happy club makes it easier for youngsters to slide into the side and develop.

Well, yes, the coaching staff have stopped the youngsters coming through, and that's [iwhy[/i we're trying to flout the rules. I still don't agree with doing so, though. We should sort out our coaching problems and go with what we have for next year. It's a good enough side to do a hell of a lot better than we've done this year (with the right coach).
