cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

| It's very rare for Rugby League to be the lead item on all the news channels, a pity it has to be to bring us such sad news.
A truly awful way for anyone to end their days. I hope his family and friends can find some solace in the coming days and months from the fact that he is suffering no more.
He embodied the very best in what the human spirit can achieve and our world is a sadder place with his passing. A Rugby League legend, in every sense of the word. May he rest in peace for always.

Nice post. He left a rugby league legacy and a human legacy. The whole horrendous disease has shown humans at their very best Rob and Kevin Sinfield at the front. It’s uplifting. I hope Robs family can find some peace through their grief

| Such devastating news when it broke last night and one that has been on my mind ever since. Such a great player and one that commanded respect on the field from both his teammates and his opponents, rightfully adored by Leeds supporters and admired by fans from all other clubs. Not many players can do that. But to then go through what he did afterwards and to face it with the attitude and bravery that he did and help bring such a cruel disease to the public conscious... he was a class player but an even classier person.
RIP to him. My thoughts have been with his family and friends and everyone that is mourning his loss.

| This touched me deeply when of was announced and like many have said it hit me hard to lose him for it was as if I’d lost someone who was simply irreplaceable.
The news when it came might have been I guess expected but it still came as a real body blow to everyone who loves our great game as we see the passing of a truly heroic individual in the most tragic of circumstances. Rob was to the end a fantastic ambassador for our game, combining the ethos of the fighter and the campaigning stalwart with the fact that he was a thoroughly good sport and a great bloke as well. All that on top of being a really gifted rugby league player.
He epitomised what Eddie Waring used to refer to as a pocket battleship. A mini dynamo on the field he was a brilliant player who literally punched way above his weight. As an adversary he often ran us ragged and always did it as he did everything with a smile on his face. He had the heart of a lion and would face up to the biggest forward as well, if he was antagonised, just ask Luaki that!!!
When you see some who receive honours he should, along with Kevin, been knighted ages ago if only for his brave work for the Motor Neuron charity, but no matter, for we have still all seen the passing of a real icon of our game and indeed someone the like of which we may never see again.
What a hero and I’m sure our thoughts go to his brave, brave family at this time. Sadly, the game has lost a hero and one the like of which we may never see again. He might be gone but his memory will burn bright for decades to come and father will tell their children about him and the good he has done to spread awareness and understanding of his illness.
Christopher Reeve once said, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles”
RIP Rob!

| I had avoided watching the BBC programme that Wilf mentioned above, as I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. It is such a devastatingly sad story, but I have watched it this morning, and the emotion you feel, for his Wife, his kids and his friends is overwhelming.
RIP Rob x
