If this coach really does look at form of a player or players rather than experience both Sutcliffe and Houghton should not be in the team

I would bring back Okunbor and play him in the centre for Sutcliffe.or on the wing and move Briscoe to centre

The narrative from the club is definitely that DH is still first choice hooker. Grix, Cummins and even Pearson are saying that.

I don't know if they genuinely believe that or are perhaps trying to be respectful to the man. Right now I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there's something in his contract saying that if he's fit, he plays. But from the stands it certainly looks like his time as the first choice 80 (60) minute hooker is done. Doesn't mean his overall time is done with us, just that we need to be managing him better that we do to get him at his most effective.

Defence wins games. DH has his weaknesses but kicking, game management and his tackling cannot be overestimated. I would doubt, as someone suggeste, that there is a clause in his contract that he always gets picked. That would be so unprofessional. He is picked by all the coaches because they are wiser than us knowitalls

Just to be clear, I wasn't actually suggesting that there is such a clause in his contract. It was more that, given the state we are in, I wouldn't put it past the club at the moment if news like that came out.

He won't have a clause, the rest is nonsense though, he isn't good enough anymore, even his defence isn't what it was.

Defence is important, but if you are slow to pass, not accurate, take the wrong option and don't run from dummy half anymore I'd argue that this isn't good enough.

What ever happens he definitely needs spelling more. Even play him for first 25 min first half then 15/20 spell 2nd half.
