I can see your point re cover for Houghton but even when Johnstone is in the team the coach is still playing Houghton for 80 mins and i thought he would have looked at last season when burning Houghton out flogging him without suitable interchange.
I understand having two nines with pace on the field at the same time can be an advantage but Houghton and Johnstone are similar and offer no attacking running threat from acting half
Parcell at HKR is the ideal nine and was outstanding against Warrington using his pace to great effect and the sooner we can get Lovodua settled at nine the better we will be.
The problem is he is also showing he is the best 6 we have on current form

Agree. They are the first choice half backs so let Reynolds and Gale have a run of games (injury permitting) to develop a partnership. Reynolds has been disappointing but this would be a good opportunity to prove himself.
I'd start Lovodua at Hooker and have Houghton on the bench. Some of his better performances over the last 2 years have been from there.
Not only has Lovodua been a quality acquisition his versatility means some established players aren't or at least shouldn't be guaranteed a place.
It's a rare luxury to have a team in form with options in key positions.

IMO he is, certainly when he has the ball in hand.
As mentioned do you remember him doing anything of note with the ball except the kick at Leeds, a break, a good run, a great pass? I don't what he offers, IMO waste of cap money.
Criminal that we released Litten then a month later signed Johnstone.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

| Round 10 for Taylor.
I'd definitely put Lovodua in at 9 for Houghton who's been abit scratchy with ball in hand.
Put Reynolds in who loves drawing defenders in and then releasing Connor it's our main weapon.
With Lovodua at 9, the spine has 1 more creative ball handler and alot more creativity.

Just think we need Lovodua on for 80mins and him switching from 13 to 9 in a game offers us a lot of opportunity and leaves the opposition with more questions than answers. We also keep Houghton fresher so we maximise his defensive strengths rather than him hitting 60mins and his tank is running on empty.

when you consider how rusty Gale was you have a point but feel sure Reynolds will play.
We need three forwards though on the bench and that last bench spot will be interesting given Johnstone seems to be given the nod.
We have enough to win the game if we cut out the indiscipline but If we continue to put pressure on ourselves then Hudds will win.
When we start well we usually win.
Do it for Adam

Johnstone is similar style to Houghton neither offer much attacking threat
Only difference is Houghton is on probably 4 times more money
Agree should of kept litten all day long he's far better than Houghton and Johnstone imo
