Just for the utility value he offers he should be in, there at atv5 players who is better than.
Griffin a bit unlucky too, he is better than 3 of the centres named.
Johnstone should be in front of the old wingers and I'd have Lewis in there too, done more than Dodd so far in his career, but doesn't play for Saints.

Really don't get the current selection for the current train on squad from Wane. I can to some extent understand why Griff has maybe not been chosen due to having spent so long out with his injury and only just coming back but some of those selections are a joke. Evalds and McShane have been very poor so far this season and can't believe Marshall is in but no Tom Johnstone agree about Lewis too (even if he is a robin )

| A benefit from the club's perspective. As mentioned, Connor is behind Tomkins and Griffin has been out long term so no real arguments.

| Better for us if Connor gets overlooked though; at the end of the day, when you see the NRL, we won't get close to the Aussies, even if they pick a shadow team , NZ will be class and the South Sea Islands all have world class talent, so its never gonna be a glorious triumph for us, more a hammering and if that's what it takes to shake up the international scene, then we want no part of it, let Tompkins answer the questions. It is a shame really, I was watching some great test matches on youtube, one where we won in Sydney 33-10 , with Eastwood kicking 7 goals was a real stand out and well worth a look.

Could have put any SL scrum half in there and they still would have won the game. Dodd looks a good player, but I've been more impressed with Lewis, this playing in a lot less dominant team too.

| Lewis could have been in there for me, just they type of player that draws penalties and got great explosive speed , with an eye for the gaps but he isn't at one of the big clubs, so he's not as highly thought of - if he keeps playing the way he is now, he'll be hard to ignore though , you can see what he's going to do when he starts to arc his run , but getting to him is quite another thing and I'd have loved him at Hull, apparently he grew up supporting Hull (I'd heard the opposite but I wouldn't argue with those in the know) so we missed a trick there. Maybe he'll do a Cooke!! Tongue in cheek that remark as he looks firmly ensconced at Craven Park I am afraid.

| Connor will get selected for the Exiles in the pointless mid season game like last season and we know what happened then.

Question marks over Lewis defence probably meant he wasn't selected

Is Sarginson still in Cam Scott's back pocket?

| Hopefully Jake and Griffs exclusions from the squad only make them hell bent on proving Wane wrong and their performances for us go up another level.

I noticed Jake was taunting Sarginson after a try down that side. I wonder if he already knew he wasn't in the squad and was pointing out to Sarginson how the feck did you get chosen and I didn't.

Match was played in Melbourne GB. and I was there to see captain Schofield give a comprehensive master class in No 6 play- he truly demolished the Aussies in the second match of the last Ashes series held in Aus. We were susequently narrowly defeated in Sydney to lose the series 2-1.
Being a rotten pedant here but Eastwood kicked 6 out of 7 attempts.-sorry!

No worries Freddie, I am a bit bleary eyed when I watch those clips, its my go to night time viewing as an insomniac. Schofield was brilliant that game, the chip and chase for Offiah's try had the Aussies bemused and what a game that was. I don't see us within 50 points of them now, if they pick their best 17, probably even their next best 17. The gulf in class between us now is probably as wide as it was in 82 when the Invincibles came over and rewrote RL history, in my opinion as an avid fan of the NRL.
