| Admittedly I have no knowledge of this deal so maybe Gayle has agreed that a certain number of appearances would trigger an extra year, that's possible.
He certainly will not have agreed to be left at the whim of Hull who can then discard no matter what if it suits them. Why would he do that? Surely you can agree with me on that.
What's not in dispute is that you have paid money to Sneyd to leave. This is a 30 year old player who has been a regular matchwinner for you in favour of a 33 year old with a shocking recent injury record and on massive wages which Leeds will NOT be subsidising.
Gale blossomed for a while under Powell at Castleford but has been underwhelming at all his other clubs and has been injured most of the time for the past 3 years.
I warned you that Reynolds was not the player of a few years ago and would likely miss loads of games through injury. You didn't believe me but now I'm saying the same about Gale but with knobs on.
You need to hope that McNamara has a step change in performance because with Reynolds and Gale as your first choices he'll be playing big minutes in 2022.

Sneyd asked to leave. We granted his wish. Salford paid no fee. We're not paying part of his salary. We never paid a fee for Gale.

On the Leeds forum they say he was great in his first season with them.

He played 17/21 in 2020 and kicked the match winning DG in the Cup final.
Interesting article in the Yorkshire Evening Post
Quote: Raggytash "Leeds Rhinos won’t receive a fee from Hull following Luke Gale’s shock transfer - but chief executive Gary Hetherington says he has left “with our best wishes”.
Hull announced his signing at 6pm on Friday, around six hours after the Yorkshire Evening Post revealed a move was on the cards.
They say Gale, 33, has penned a one-year contract. The Evening Post understands that is likely to be extended into 2023 if the move works out.'"

1. Sneyd wouldnt have had a payout as he has got a better deal elsewhere hence why he would have agreed/asked to leave knowing next year would have being his last.
2. Gale can come here as a starter and extend his career longer if he performs. At 33 you want to play every week especially in a world cup year. So they will be no major money involved.
3. The option will be in the clubs favour and Im sure Gale will back himself.
It amazes me that one minute you claim we are skint then the next say we are paying mega money.

| The Sneyd/Gale thing has really taken me by surprise, gutted to see Sneyd go, FC legend but I do agree our attack has been stifled and to easy to read for the last two seasons and Snyed just isn't a running player who is going to make breaks, his game is all about the kicking. I've never been a fan of Gale but lets see how he goes, hopefully both the halves can stay injury free and build a partnership. We definitely needed change and a clear out, so no complaints from me on the recruitment.

| So long Sneyd, gave us the two best days in recent memory at Wembley, forever a legend, The signing of Gale makes me think of Sean Long and Leon Pryce, both passed their best and neither really delivered, but willing to support him 100% and he will provide bucket loads of experience for the young lads Hookem and McNamara. I think this is a positive, and at least he isn't coming with dreadlocks.
I bet Shaul, Mint and Tag are having some interesting chats on what's app

The injury point can be attributed to any player a team signs. For example we signed Josh Jones in his prime and he played a few games then went to Hudds and played all season practically. So that element of risk is always there, one thing that cant be injured is a persons Rugby Brain.
The financial side is absolute garbage.

I wouldn't be against that. I don't think the three captains idea really worked. Houghton and Taylor won't be doing eighty minutes so Gale is a neat fit for the role. Plus he has experience of captaincy.

What happened at Leeds is in the past, I don't see why that would be a factor in what Hodgson decides.

No arguments from me either in regards of captaincy .
Pleased with his signing , Adds more to the team than just a kicking game .

| We should get more out of Ma'u playing outside of Gale too. I can't count the amount of times Sneyd gave him a hospital pass
