| Quote: Mrs Barista "Radford will remain as coach if we lose all our remaining games 100-0. There was far greater pressure for him to resign a few years ago, before he'd won back to back trophies. AP has form for mixing it up and delivering silverware with Radford at the helm. He's promised change before and kept his word, so my expectation is that he'll do the same again. If he starts talking about a 5 year plan, then failing and just starting a new 5 year plan each season that leaves us in the drop zone year after year, I'll start to worry about his credibility as it would be shot.'"
But it is surely possible for a person's mind to change when circumstances do, without them losing credibility. Indeed, Pearson's plans were changed by the performance on Thursday. If your losing streak runs to the end of the season (11 games and 3 months) [iand[/i you get any more performances like Thursday's... well, we'll probably never know but I think we'd be more likely to see Pearson react like he did at the end of Gentle's reign than how he did at the start of Radford's.

There seems little point in using logic in a discussion with Mrs Barista. Her 26,000+ posts demonstrate that the lady is not for turning.
She did start her latest post with “Radford will remain as coach if we lose all our remaining games 100-0”. Should that unlikely scenario happen Pearson would be beside himself and almost certainly take action. Over emphasis does tend to devalue the point being made.

30462.jpg [b:3oz7jfnu]Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane told BBC Radio Manchester:
"Some people within the club [Castleford] have come out with comments saying we're beatable and it's a great game for them and they're very confident.
Many of the comments I've heard have been bordering on disrespectful.
They can be as confident as they want, but they're going to get a tough game this weekend and we'll be trying our best to make sure they don't get that win.
We've played in some big games over these last few years and they've not played in as many, if any, so to be that confident is very risky for them.
They come here with confidence because they've scored a lot of points and beaten us at home, but I wouldn't be overconfident if I was them."
[u:3oz7jfnu]Incidentally Wane's mob got stuffed 16 - 4[/u:3oz7jfnu] [/b:3oz7jfnu]:30462.jpg |

I know Steve well and trust me even at his age he wont need any help should one of the Hull fans fancy a pop at him
Or are you gonna have a go if he hasn't got a steward watching his back?
May'be Scott Taylor might have a go too after Steve's derogatory comments about him being selected for England's trip to Denver rather than his son
Looking forward to the game as always over at your place, you can't beat a couple of pints and a laugh prior to kick off time

Hopefully you're right but he's also told us in the past that we wouldn't be suffering humiliating defeats any more and we are.
I don't think radford should be at risk at this stage but we need to see a good start to next season and a massive improvement in our away form and form against the top teams or he does need to be looking over his shoulder but I think he would walk before he got the bullet anyway

He did say that, but his personal form has been to act when things go wrong. I doubt he has new players lined up at this precise moment but I see more reason to believe he'll make changes to the playing roster than to assume he's lying about doing so which seems to be the accepted wisdom of some on here. Just my opinion.

I don't think he's lying but he has form for shooting from the hip and I think he'll find both moving players on and recruiting players of the right calibre a challenge. He's spoken in the heat of the moment and actually putting his words into practice will be a lot harder than speaking them

Of course, but he's also put a longish time frame on his plan to replace those he intends to smoke out.

He has time but unless he's going to pay transfer fees I doubt there are many quality players who aren't signed up for next year

Turn he clock back to May, when OOC players could have been contacted and assume Pearson had made the same statement then. Who would you have suggested back then as possible signings?
Watts was signed up, yet he was sold within contract. OK, we have been on the wrong end of that from a playing point of view, but I can only assume there are a few other loose cannons out there at other clubs who could be picked up mid season / within contract.

Going to get absolutely battered in the forwards so I'm not expecting much. If they bust their guts, tackle anything that moves and keep the score under 40 I'll call it progess.

| Cas are favourites !! How can that be ?
The owner and coach have relied on their man management quals and devised an amazing thought out plan
They’ve taken a low confidence group and given them the pep talk of all pep talks
Boy does our Coach ooze management skills !
He’s publically criticised the lot of them to the press and anyone who’ll listen
He’s made them watch the whole game
He’s flogged their already battered bodies in training all week
THe owner had publically fired half of them in the press
It’s cutting edge management and leadership that Harvard needs to a look at
FC by 20 - fill your boots at the bookies

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. That's one of the most frustrating things for many fans. All they want is effort and a bit of passion. Generally we are able to accept even a bad defeat if we can see that the team has given everything in persuit of a win. That has been lacking at time this season and not just the two big defeats. Attitude is everything at this level. Taking your foot off the gas because you've just signed a long contract or dipped out of the only competition you had a realistic chance off winning is not acceptable. The big question is can they revitalise themselves at this stage of the season with little or no external motivational influences?
