Exactly this. When you scan down current SL coaches, few had stellar coaching careers prior to their appointment. In this context the expectation we could get a "proven experienced" coach looks unrealistic.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "I do wonder, short of a Wayne Bennett, whom fans would be delighted to see us appoint. Powell is the obvious one but seems very happy where he is and realistically would be at best a sideways move for him to swap a highly functioning top 4/5 team for arguably bigger potential 7-10 scrappers. But beyond Powell, who is an ambitious but realistic potential target that would get fans really excited?'"
I don't think there's many coaches that would get universal praise from the fans.
Perhaps the better question to ask everyone is what do people think we need should Radford leave? Someone with experience as a head coach? A tactician? Someone to shore up our defence? Someone with a flamboyant style? A motivator? What would be ideal for you and who do you think we could realistically bring in to meet your requirements?

| A manager of men. Who is a top coach held in both high regard and respected by his team? And by that I don't mean too close to them or soft on them so they 'like' him.

Who expects us to get a "proven experienced" coach? As far as I'm aware I'm the only one mentioning it and I've specifically said we won't get one. Or is it another of your made up quotes?

It's an interesting point. I read a piece a while back criticisizing a Premier League club for drawing up a shortlist of very different candidates for their vacancy. The suggestion being that they didn't really know what they wanted and had no clear plan.
In the PL though you've got a whole world of options, beyond Harry Redknapp, Sam Allardyce, Tony Pulis and Steve McClaren.
A detailed checklist is probably not as valuable if you are choosing between the half dozen or so familiar options touted for SL jobs.

It's fair to say Radford's 2.5 year tenure has been characterised by adverse commentary on his lack of experience. UllFC for example has long advocated us getting a more experienced coach in. Would you like me to find a quote? I said "could", not "will", of course.

| Many have likened us to Newcastle Utd - a big club who spend money but consistently fail and employ bang average coaches
They have just changed their model having scrapped the head coach position to employ a manager and one who is a proven winner - and he's bringing his own fresh new backroom team and not making do with some people who are proven losers from previous regimes
Thats what we need to do

| ... by employing someone sacked from their previous post after 7 months in charge?
I guess most managers end up that way.

Is he though? (as in Motu)
This season Sika Manu has been good in patches but bad in others
Tuimavave is - Ben Crooks was/is better, so is Yeaman (even in his old age), Whitings 10X the player
Pritchard is throwing his weight around (and theres a lot of it) like the big i am, cost us the Cas game, gets dropped, Shite against Widnes
All three arnt performing consistently with the last two being the worst of all.

Its Rugby League and like any sport impossible to perform at a high level consistantly.
Ben Crooks is getting the benefit playing in a side that is very well coached and plays expansive rugby.
Manu is playing too many continuous minutes, just like Mini last season. That needs to change and is one part of Radfords poor interchanges recently.
Pritchard is an impact player and needs to come on with Ellis after 20 mins not used as a starting forward.
Dont agree with you about Tiumavave. He is currently playing out of position at centre but was outstanding in the first two matches.
With Pryce out and Tiumavave at 6 you will see a player who can kick well, produce the telling pass and attack the line.
We are all bitterly disappointed about the recent results but its not time to panic into making wholesale changes.
When Fonua is back he should be played now at Centre and maybe for the Wakefield game bring Dean Hadley in as his defence is better than Thompson and move Michaels to centre and bring Naughton or Lancaster in on the wing
