Kirk had a good game this afternoon tackled his heart out and scored a good try and then was scalped by a massive head high. He wanted to play on but Doctor suggested he be withdrawn.

Why didn;t pryce get his knee sorted in the off season if it's been a problem for a while? As for the game, hoping for a win but expecting a loss and fear we could concede quite a few points as widnes move the ball wide well

if it's just been a niggle there isn't much you can "sort out" until something actually goes wrong

Was told the other day that Kirk has just lost his father so maybe that could be a reason for looking dissintersted. It may not be right only what i was told.

I'd definitely go for Abdul at 6 if he's fit. Moving Carlos weakens the back line too much imo. If Abdul doesn't work then we can look at Carlos there when Fonua comes back (must only be a couple of weeks away now), but I see no reason why Abdul won't flourish there. Imo he is a better 6 than a 13.

As for the game itself. It might be a bit early to be calling this a must win game, but if we want a top 4 spot it probably is. Widnes have obviously been playing well, but I'm not entirely sold on them yet. Two wins against the weakest teams in the league, a loss to a Salford side we dispatched of easily, and whilst any wins against Leeds and Hudds are good wins, those clubs are pretty much in disarray atm. I'd like to think that with their fixtures we would also be 4/5, if not unbeaten, whereas with our fixtures they might not have got off the mark yet. I don't think it's unreasonable to say we will be the best side they've played so far. I expect a tough test, but I also expect a win. If we do enough to win and end up with a narrow loss yet again you will have to really start to question our mentality.
