Watch it, Raggy. You'll be inflaming the jealous passions of East Hull FC Fan, or whatever he's called now.

Taking away last night I've said before that if we get an offer we should sell him, will benefit the club and him.

Abdul will be a better player for Hull IMO.

Westerman hasn't played well all season. I'm wondering if someone got inside his head on the international tour. You know the sort of thing; "if you come and play for us you'll get double the wages and win things" etc etc. Just a thought.

Then you have an odd method of assessing worth. Westerman was one of our best players last year and earned an England call-up. This year he's lacked game time due to a serious injury and is struggling to get back to form but suddenly he's always been cr@p and we should get rid in favour of a promising youngster who's yet to prove he has what it takes at this level?

Even during last night's dropsy-ridden performance he was one of the few players running good lines, hitting holes, and making busts. He may have bombed a load chances but at least he was in the right position to create them in the first place. And he put in a huge defensive stint with 45 tackles. But some can only see the bad stuff I guess.

Was his performance of the required standard? Clearly not, as he's said himself. Is he capable of the required standard? History says yes he is and a lot more also. But let's just sack him off after half an injury-blighted season and one very poor game, eh?

This is why we can't have nice things.

A decent post, but in the 4 years or so ghe has been at Hull I would say he has had two good seasons his first and last year, I reckon he has player well in less than 50% of the games he has played. I have been a big fan if his and really want him to reach his potential on a consistent basis, but I just think he will do at Hull. If we can get a fee and use his salary elsewhere then I think it would benefit the club and put is in. A better position, which is what we all want.

Last season was the first where he was played in a role that suits him, and he blossomed. This season his role has changed slightly (not saying that's wrong BTW) and he has had a serious injury. I don't see any evidence that he can't be the player we need since he was exactly that last season. I'd rather have him playing for us than against us, especially as we're already losing two of our better players.

I think that, while Cas undoubtedly produce a good number of good players, their reputation slightly exceeds reality. Every kid that comes through there seems to be regarded as the next big thing. So even if they do well, like Shenton or Westerman, that they don't quite live up to the initial hype means they're perceived almost to have failed. Daryl Clarke not immediately ripping it up for Wire is another one.

Well said!

Spot on and not exclusive to Westy. With some "fans" you're either a jewel or a turd. There's no in between.

Westerman deserves the criticism he has received for his performance on Friday. When playing a team like leeds you don't get many chances and if you have a player routinely making error after error in attacking positions and bombing opportunities then it's virtually impossible to win. Might as well not bother getting into those positions at all if that's the end result.

Like I said at least he got on those positions what about pryce who did what he's done against leeds for the last decade and hid all game
