| Lots of positives for me, hope our new halfbacks can help with the passing game out to the wings by speeding it up.
Team spirit looks to be very good and to come back the way we did last night was really good, only a couple of season ago we got mullered by Leeds and could easily have happened tonight but we hung in.
Feeling positive after a terrible season with a thrashing of KR, a close loss against a bang in form 4th place Huddersfield and now a win against Leeds after after going 4 - 19 down. Got things to look forward too but like others have said lots of work needed to make us a top 8 side.

And in fairness Houghton is not much better, he's passing is atrocious, slow and laboured yes he tackles his heart out but IMO he massively overrated

Very heavy dew last night - made the ball more slippery than you might imagine.
I drove home in very thick mist/fog, most unusual for this time of the year.

| The 1st hour epitomised our season, the last 20 mins showed the potential we have. A great result all the same.

It was weird wasn't it. If you looked up at the lights the dew looked like rain. So you can excuse some of the handling but the passing was still shocking.I hope the off-season features hundreds of hours of passing drills

| The sprinklers were on before the game and with the long grass holding the water it made for difficult handling.Wonder if leeds fans are wanting their international players who dropped the ball even more then we did have better coaching on passing?never heard such drivel. It was clear that handling was difficult for both sides. There were many positives last night yet some cannot help having a dig at players.Houghton had a really decent game last nigh worked his butt of all year yet still gets called?

my comments about passing aren't just based on last nights game, we've been woeful at it for a long time now. And I don't think anyone in this thread is 'having a dig' at the players, just being realistic and acknowledging that if we were playing a team that had something to play for our mistakes would have been punished.

| Quote: weaver93 "Totally agree..
Personally,I dont feel the Coaching team devote sufficient time to improving 'catch and pass'., judging by
the constant slow ,inaccurate and dropped passes.- week in ..week out.
Throughout Wigan's squad as an example.. they rarely drop a pass,
and their speed and accuracy are top notch.(Practice makes perfect).
Regarding a specialist coach.. .. I'd have brought in Cooke as a skills coach, according to AP... Horne has
been working with the halfbacks.'"
Yet i commented after watching Gentle's first open training session at YPI that they seemed to be doing a lot of basic catching and passing drills and the usual suspects came on here saying that if they can't already do the basics they shouldn't be professionals.

| I don't think extra coaching will help, some players have probably been that good with their feet as kids that they've not had the skill set coached into them when needed.
It's so slow from us because we also seem to need to pass to every single player down the line. The ball is never fired out more than 10 yards from dummy half.

Pearson said last night that if we do introduce the 2 refs system we may look to do something with Rankin at 9.

How do you know this fictitious team wouldn't have struggled in the conditions as well ? Did Leeds' players drop the ball deliberately simply because 'they had nothing to play for' ? Ridiculous.
