| Which two, can't say I remember them, so would have to watch it again. I think some people don't rate Houghton and he had become a bit of a scapegoat this year, at times Heremias passing is slow and he takes the wrong option, but nobody's mentions that, Houghton makes a mistake and it gets picked up on. If the forwards are in control Houghton improves as he gets more time.

Hadley was one and IIRC the other was Westerman. It's not scapegoating it's plain for all too see his distribution is generally poor.

| Find it hard to knock houghton, through all the e over the last few years, he's been pretty consistent and grafts his off every game, if he was a little smarter with ball in hand , I have no doubt he'd be playing in the nrl

Agree with this. It's the major reason our forwards seem to be jogging when catching the ball as they can't time their runs properly. On once occasion last night watts had to practically stop to catch a pass which was behind him. Improves significantly when heremaia is on the pitch

| Whilst a win is great, some seem to be getting waaay ahead of themselves, Saints were gash from all accounts and had fewer halfbacks than us on the pitch. I said at the beginning of the season we would win some games even without a coach and Radford is still crap.
A draw against a very patchy Cas outfit and a win Friday and some fans seem to forget the dry bumming we got from the goons not two weeks back as well as the absolute shiate all season.
it's all well and good putting in the odd decent display but where was this all season?
Two fit halfbacks (for most of the season) will improve us but you can pretty much guarantee that won't be the case. we won't finish this low down next season (how the feck could we!) but some will still be lauding Radford if we get into the top 8 next year which is still a backward step.
Under him the players seem to have gone backward in almost every depratment this season!
I'd love us to smash it in 2015 but I just can't see it.

Really?
Feel free to quote someone getting 'way ahead of themselves'.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.

| Agree with most on here. It was certainly scrappy at times, but a wins a win and we haven't had too many this year so we may as well enjoy the feeling for a few days.
The irony being, of course, that even in victory most of our shortcomings were still very much in evidence. Chiefly our inability to turn pressure into points due to well documented failings with ball in hand. Hard to fault the effort and commitment (particulary in defence) and it certainly feels better walking out of a ground after winning than losing.
I still have major doubts about the mid/long term direction of the club, but I'll enjoy the next few days at least.

Easy way to stop this would be to have them running off a first receiver rather than one out from the ruck. It's something we do when Miller played and further back when Long was here.

| Some good posts above from people who don't even attend games.
Can Standee or his mate please show me these posts from people going over the top after the Saints win?

He is at least consistent. For every club apologist, there's a Standee that only see negatives, probably born from a deep rooted fear of disappointment.

I'll happily have a go for them. I think Friday nights performance showed us a glimpse of what's to come next year. A dominant performance from the pack, which with the addition of the smarts of Sneyd and Pryce next year and some pace in the backs from Lineham, Shaul and (hopefully) our new centre will see us finish top 4.

That's a massive call, the next 2/3 signings would have to real quality, also big improvements would be needed from the coaching staff and our pack would have to much more consistent.

The post was slightly tongue in cheek, but is that really OTT? I don't think it is.
