That's not what we are saying at all.

Years before. His natural position and a very good player when put there. Unfortunately some nob-head thought he was a fullback and almost ended his career. Until he went to Rovers and they finished the job.

Well if that is the case, perhaps somebody can explain why his signings have been poor, sneyd possibly an exception, the team is playing without any pride or passion, wakefields squad is not a patch on ours yet even under agar and now webster they have taken 3 points out of 4 against us and we look sure to finish below them. With the odd exception the displays this season have been dire, and iam afraid if we are going to settle for mediocrity, which it appears we are,my money can be spent on a bit more value for money than we currently are.'"

He was right in the end: |
|
| Cant remember which thread you are all on about "are we under or over cap"
Dont forget pre season AP said we have £200k off cap which is legit.
This did include Tom Biggs, (now should we have hung on for him in the current dire mess we are in), was he [idirectly[/i replaced?, as i believe Sa would not have the same off cap status?

| I agree with some of docs points about youth policy and building a team over time but I don't agree with him when he says about the thirst for immediate success, sure some fans want us to be making finals every year but I think most fans just want to see the team improve year on year and be challenging to make those finals, like someone eluded to earlier in the thread we've been waiting for some continued success since 2005/06 so to say we want immediate success is abit out of order I think, I think our fans have been pretty patient and now it's starting to wear abit thin.
Also I wonder if people like doc who are saying give him time would they be so patient about the situation if radford wasn't a hull lad, a lot of people were quick to jump on gentles back after the hudds playoff defeat, I don't see why it should be any different with radford.

Strikes me that Murdoch is Radfords' mate... as you say, we don't want "instant" success, Pearson said we'd "never be embarrassed again", well, we have been, a couple of times!

| It's obvious that there is a big rebuilding job to be done at the club and continuity is important but the problem is pearson hasn't brought in a master builder, he's brought in the apprentice we've had kicking around for a couple of years. I've said since before agar was appointed that the rebuilding job at the club is too big for an inexperienced coach and no surprise that the last 3 coaches have struggled as they don't have what is required to do it. radford should be making his mistakes and learning the role at a lower division club, not one of the best supported clubs in the country

| Is it the coaches job to build a whole structure with the club? People like Waites at Catalan are brought in to do that role?

I'd certainly say it's the coaches job to put in place anything to do with playing matters and I don't think any first time coach has the necessary experience to do that well at any big club

Playing matters of the first team I agree and certainly liaising with other set ups would be advantageous but the first team coach can't do the whole job himself. I got the feeling Sandercock was attempting to cover the whole set up, far to much for one man.
Not sure who the other people are at some other clubs but I'm sure they will employ a director of rugby etc.

We have Motu Tony in that role, (B)Radford has no excuses, he simply isn't capable.

I was shocked at his appointment, just seemed another 'job for the boys', even more so when he ain't qualified for the role. I know Radford is taking huge stick and it's probably justifiable at the mo, with people crying out for an experienced coach, surely dumping Motu and bringing in a very experienced head in that role would help the club from top to bottom.

I agree 100%, we seem to be a very much "jobs for the boys" club nowadays, which is disheartening!
