A first team coach stays in a job not long unless very successful, I thought he could have served a bit longer as an assistant, he knew this himself but couldn't let the chance pass, he's either not developing the current squad to the best of their ability, but I also see the teams in & around us are developing too, it's not for me to say he's the man to steer us forward I'll leave that to AP.

| To be honest, nowadays, if you gave all 12,000 tickets away free, that team and performances wouldn't attract me.
Radford must go for the sake of the club.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.

Andy would not take it, he sees his current position as the "zenith " of his ambition.

Christ, no. Get Andy Hay back. He clearly knew Gentle and Radford were clueless. Even Motu as caretaker.
Can you imagine if they gave the job to Horne? I'd go support London in the Championship.

simple really, the rugby isn't entertaining and most people's living rooms are warmer, comfier, and have a much better atmosphere than the KC.

| Quote: fc baldy "Shaun McRae........had arguably the best squad we have had in SL but couldn't deliver the silverwear the squad merited and took the team as far as he could.Played some very good rugby but couldn't cure the "cancer" in the squad.
John Kear........took over a youthful team with experience and deliverd us the cup but results and performances was somewhat inconsistent, didn't stand upto the board and lost the dressing room and paid the price for a horrid start to 2006.did he address the "cancer" in the club.
Richard Agar.......stepped up for 4 matches as caretaker and did ok steadying the ship.
Peter Sharp......came in,altered our attack and defence...took us on a big winning run, battered Wigan and Leeds along way...took us to OT in his 1st yr.....brought through some youngsters, instilled discipline off the pitch but was over ruled by the board.Had to contend with a horrendous injury crisis and the Cooke affair and ultimately cost him his job.
Richard Agar......what can be said but put us back years.Ruined the youth set up completely.
Peter Gentle.........made some funny 1st signings but the proved to be bang on....in his 1st season we played some good stuff and things looked roses then lost the plot in 2nd year with a light pack that got bullied.......took captaincy off Lynch and gave to Ellis which was big mistake... gave youth a chance and unearthed some gems.
Out of them all....Sharp was the biggest mistake we made by sacking him and I'd love to still have him here.'"
Good summary.
McRae deserves a lot of credit for his first spell, he signed the players that formed our success for the next few seasons, with unknown youngsters such as Raynor & Carvell mixed with proven quality like Swain. We also played some outstanding rugby in 2004, and without the horrendous injury list at the end I feel we were in with a good shot of getting to Old Trafford that year.
Kear was good for one-off moments like the CC Semi and Win, the Playoff win against Andrew Johns' Warrington etc but lets not forget we were woefully inconsistent too, we were either battering a team or taking a hammering! Exciting to watch though I must admit.
In hindsight sacking Sharp is looking a bigger mistake as time goes on, we had one bad spell in 2008, with arguably the worst injury list in the clubs history. Had we known Agar was round the corner i'd have rather he was given time to turn things around.
the only thing I will say in defence of all of the coaches during the Hetherington era is that it is quite clear that the board had a massive say in our signings, you do wonder how many of them the coaches actually wanted to sign or if they just got lumbered with them!
As you say Gentle cocked up 2013 massively, with most of his/McRae's signings working out badly. I still don't think he was the right man for the job long-term and he appeared to be a broken man after the playoff defeat at Huddersfield...but he would still have been a better option than the clueless Radford!
the above list does show that gambling on unproven assistants repeatedly hasn't worked for us. Getting this club back on track is a job for a proven head coach and that isn't Lee Radford.

He won't walk he's no quitter, it has been the worst start it could possibly be for him & his staff/ squad, it will make them more determined to succeed, we are in a massive hole as much as to say we are miles away from sorting it, us fans are very unhappy with performances/results, we are at rock bottom so to me there's only 1way from here, which is up, got a splinter in my ars!

| Peter Sharp was not sacked because of results he was sacked because he fell out with the so called Chairperson Mrs K Hetherington . She was in Australia supposedly their to sign or try to sign players who Sharp had told her to go and see. She totally ignored his recommendations and tried to sign Crocker and we all know what happened there don't we. When she talked to Sharp on the telephone he told her a few home truths on her return she sacked him. This is what I was told by someone close to Peter Sharp To put one other thing right he was not responsible for getting rid of Danny Brough Mrs Hetherington was she said Tommy Lee was a better prospect and also cheaper.
As far as I am aware this is the truth I have read numerous posts on here regarding Peter Sharp and some of the comments have been along way from the truth I hope this puts him in a better light. I only came on here for a browse he was a good coach ask Lee Radford he maintains he was one of the best he had worked with. FC could do no worse than to bring him back to work with Radford
As usual all I have stated on here is hearsay I can't confirm or have any proof but I believe it all to be factual

| Peter Sharp was a great coach. We won his first ten games in charge and fourteen out of the first fifteen. Even the loss was a narrow one, 18-16 at Quins.
The signings during his tenure were a mixed bag, such as Tickle, Manu, Berrigan, Dykes, Byrne, Cusack, Maiava. Exactly what say he had in them is unclear. He certainly wanted to keep Mat Head but was overruled. He worked miracles in finishing 4th in 2007 despite losing our best player (Swain) and most important (Cooke) mid-season as well as Domic and McMenemy.
The start to 2008 was poor but he was again very unlucky with injuries. Dykes missed one game in two, Horne and Whiting missed almost all the season and Motu missed a chunk at full back too.
His relationship with the board had clearly collapsed and they decided to go with a young British first time head coach promoted from within. What could possibly go wrong?

| What is all this rose tinted spectacles crap?
Mcrae had the best team playing the best rugby and his team won the CC even if it was Kear in charge.
Sharp though started out well with another mans team but once he stared putting his own team of utility players together it all fell apart. You could argue that this was the time the FC downward spiral started.
Agar was just a shambles. Even further down the spiral
Gentle totally underestimated SL thinking the small mobile pack was the way forward. Made some proper bad signings inc Miller though his coaching may of been the best weve had a for a few years.
Radford is even worse the Agar

Good point. A derby hammering will be this year's Huddersfield play-off.
