| I'd like to see Miller at 7 and Rankin at 6 for the cup game. Rest Horne and use heremaia off the bench at 9. Carvell if fit back in the squad.

Why rest Horne ? He was better than Miller IMO not that Miller was bad.

Horne did have a good game, but I too would consider using Horne more sparingly. If we knew that Horne and Miller were our best partnership then fair enough, but we haven't seen Rankin and Miller together yet. It would also give Salford a new threat to worry about and keeps Horne fresh going into the Easter programme.
Shaul
Colbon
Crooks
Yeaman
Talanoa
Rankin
Miller
Paea
Houghton
Watts
Tuson
Hadley/Whiting
Westerman
Heremaia
Feka
Carvell/Whiting/Hadley
Thompson
Looks good to me. That second row spot is the tough one for me. I'd like to see Hadley given a few games, but to do that the only one that can really be left out is Whiting, which I am always reluctant to do. If Carvell isn't back though play both and use Thompson at prop again.

| We need to get the most out of Horne while he's fit, him & Miller complimented each other well (though I would have to disagree that Horne was better) and if we're going to develop a partnership there they need to play together as much as possible.
Rankin will get his chance, as Radford said, it's unlikely Horne will go through the year with out an injury.

| Maybe rest Horne against London and give Ranking a run out at stand off.

| Horne was in top 3 best players other night. Also defensively tremendous
How in a knock out cup game can anybody be advocating dropping him for a new half back combination
Same team as other night for me barring paea and carves probably for Pitts and Hadley. Bowden possibly 2.
Further on I would seriously consider shaul on the wing and rankin at full back. Not knocking colbon but he is filing a gap and little else. Lacks threat, good for hard yards out of own 20 but against good opposition I'd like more.

| I've said previously that I'd like to see Miller and Rankin play together (not that Horne has done anything wrong) and see what they can do but a cup game against Super League opposition is not the time to be experimenting on an untried half back partnership if we have any ambitions of matching last years performance and hopefully going one step further. There can be no complacency or arrogance on our part. We have one shot at this and can't take gambles IMO. At least in the league if we take a gamble there's always the chance to reclaim the points later on if it fails.
Best available team needs to play. For me at the moment that is Horne and Miller in the halves.

| Keep a big mobile pack and mobile bench against Salfords dad's army pack.....Rradford said on Humberside that they are ok for 25 mins then they blow up.I saw nothing in Salford at all on fri night.......

I agree totally. Horne's defensive effort in the first 5 mins when we didn't touch the ball was absolutely immense. He also kicked well and overall did more than Miller which was reason for my comment. I also think Shaul on the wing is a reasonable shout as he would still be able to field kicks and return as he does. Agree re Colbon not a long term prospect whatsoever.

| what is it they say about not changing a winning side?
only two changes i would make would be paea and carvell for pitts and whiting, if radford isn't going to play whiting until the 60th minute mark, it seems a waste of a bench spot imo

Whiting came on at the right time as dad's army was out on feet and whiting pushed through the line and can cover all positions

I know and haven't got a problem with Paea or Carvell (if fit) coming back but Whiting is more important to the side than Hadley ( who did nothing wrong at all) but Whiting gives us more options

Chase played well against Cas but did nothing against us so he'll probably have a blinder on Thursday.

I hope not but I can see it happening. Which proves my point. You don't know which Rangi Chase will show up from game to game.
