Decent side that. This is going to be tough. I just hope we come out playing at the right tempo if we do I think we'll win if not this side could make tomorrow night very uncomfortable for us.

As said still a good side, despite people leaving and injuries, if you can keep this side plus get Gaskell, Blyth and Ferguson back in, I think you have a chance of avoiding relegation.
I still our pack still has too much for this team, especially when you compare the benches.

| I think we should start with Houghton and bring on azza later. For me, azza is an impact player, you get the best out of him when teams are tiring, as we have seen in many weeks. we start him and he goes off the boil again.

I'd like to wish him all the luck in the world for Hull FC. Not many Wigan fans were happy to see him go and I'm pretty sure Shaun Wane wanted to keep him. When fit, he was nearly always in the 17 but mostly on the bench. With the likes of Hansen, Hock and Farrell usually ahead of him in the SR he didn't often start. His best position is probably LF but obviously he wasn't going to unseat O'Loughlin.
He isn't a flashy player. He does the tough stuff well, doesn't miss tackles and gets the odd match winning try because he reads the game well.

Excellent endorsement. Excited about seeing him in action.

| I think we ought to start with azza, then if Rankin should be below par, azza can then take over after a bit of a breather.

I take your point and I wouldn't be surprised to see Rankin stay in, hopefully instead of Heremaia in the halves, but don't we want a halfback who can produce in the tough games? He was just anonymous a lot of the time in those games, even when we were on the front foot, then when he did get involved it wasn't very good.
As somebody else mentioned, I'd like to see him at FB with Horne/Miller in the halves.

No guarantee that Miller can produce. I thought he was good last year but not outstanding. That could be more to with being hindered by playing alongside Holdsworth though who I was ultimately very disappointed with. I'd like to see what Miller can do alongside Horne with Radders instructions though if there is going to be a change in the halves. Heremeia works best at hooker for me.

Absolutely, and you could argue that given the games coming up that it would be easier for Miller to make an impact. I just like how busy Miller is, he's involved in every play at first receiver. He also has the skill set to be an exceptional SH and gives us another dimension IMO. Rankin's try against Catalan was an excellent FB's try, that's where I think he's best.

That would be a shame, hope it's nothing serious. Arundel to replace him, good to have decent back up.

| Interesting press conference from Radford with his teaser of 'a few surprises' in selection. Having seen the re-run of the Wire game it has to be said that Rankin, while not poor, didn't offer a great deal of threat down the left. He played too far away from the opposition defensive line in my opinion. Radford has already hinted he thinks the same with his comments on Azza 'playing at the line and being prepared to take a bang for his troubles'. Shaul did OK but with the possibilities that Rankin may be moved from the halves Shaul needs to do more in attack to be sure of his place as well. Great to be in the position of having options to change things around.

Arundel is not in the 19 playing for Doncaster so if Crookes is not playing it must be a last minute thing
