2 Best

4 Yeaman
5 Raynor
6 Cooke
7 Horne
8 Carvell
9 Swain
10 King
11 Mcmenemy
12 Manu
13 J Smith
Don't think you can look beyond that taking into account what we saw of them and the impact they had at Hull, positions they mostly played etc, for example Brough played mostly 6 and 9 for Hull, only once or twice at 7, Kearney was a rock but only here a season etc, and a whole host of top players maybe past there best, didn't quite work out for whatever reasons.
Without taking any of those factors into account, based on pure ability alone, what a team this would have been:
1 Horne
2 Blacklock
3 Barnett
4 Best
5 Carney
6 Cooke
7 Long
8 Carvell
9 Swain
10 Moa
11 Kearney
12 Manu
13 Jason Smith

| Funny that few have Scott Logan.. I Didn't think he were that good tbh.. Paul King was good on his day but Moa needs mentioning.
Also Horney An Briscoe throughout 2005 an 2006.

I thought Logan offered us massive go forward. A far better player than Greenhill ever was for us, and yet in past topics like this, Greenhill always crops up for some reason, I thought he was dilge!

i agree 100% about grimaldi as he was a good captain in a vital transitional period for us, and yes went back to OZ and was a star over there.

Was never a fan of Greenhill, he grafted and was decent but never set the world on fire. Logan was a good player but we didn't get his best period

| I won't bother posting a full team, because most of it has already been covered. I will just throw a couple of names in that I don't think have been mentioned.
Whilst he only played a handful of games for us. Matthew Head is the best natural 7 I have seen in the black and white. If we are going for playing ability rather than what they achieved then he would be my scrum half. Shame he was made of biscuit.
And also Ewan Dowes, despite becoming a plodder towards the end, was excellent in his first few years and played a huge part in both our 05 cup run and our run to the grand final the following year.

Logan i thought could of bin a good signing. But most often he was injured and just didn't show signs of his old self. Greenhill was good on his day but his name will be mentioned because he was good with his fists.

If anyone gets a chance to watch the semi V's saints and the Final V Leeds in 2005, watch how good Dowes was. Constantly bending the defensive line and taking three to pull him down. He was great in his first few seasons. Ill also throw in Jamie Thackray in his first spell. Was there a better impact forward in the country at the time? Used to love his all action running.

| Even though he played only a handful, an overlooked by someone else. I thought Dean Triester was great.

He was a great little player and his enthusiasm on the pitch was contagious, fast from dummy half but the signing of Swain meant he didn't get that long, and as an all round player Swain was on a different level

I remember when we had announced we were signing Swain (who was arguably the best hooker in the world at the time IMO anyways) people were moaning saying why have we signed him when we've got Treister. He was good for us and a fan favourite in such a short time. But Swain was on a different planet to Deano, and he proved it.

I were one of them. I knew who swain was but we already had Deano.. But agree with comments on Swain.

| We was also lucky to see two of the finest right wingers the NRL has ever produced playing in a black and white shirt, suprised no one has mentioned one of them yet.
