The pair of you are total gobes... and as for the accusation he is laughing at us for taking compensation for being put in an untenable position by both players and owner resulting in resignation then that is dispicable..
It was not Gentle's fault the players continually dropped the ball not went for easy 2 points at Wembley, it wasn't embaressing, yes it was an awful loss to bear but it was exciting and even into the last 15 minutes I thought we might pull it off.
As for the Hudds loss, well the players were just disgusting, in a work place environment a lot would have performance reviews/warnings for ineptitude/attitude..they were shocking, not Gentle

100% spot on, Gentle was seriously let down by some "professional" RL Players
we'll see how many apologies people make on Radford's behalf next season (and I hope not many, we need a good season)

So, the defeats at Salford, Widnes, London, Castleford and the KC against Rovers were high-points eh? No, They were all very very bad defeats against poor teams. You're stupid if you think a Wembley appearance made all that better. We limped out of the playoffs AGAIN in very embarrassing fashion.
The Wembley and Huddersfield games DID set us back this year. Look at the pass sales for further evidence. If we'd won the CC, we'd be hitting 10,000, I have no doubt.
Gentles game-plans were baffling to say the least, and he hadn't a clue on bench rotation. Clueless in the 20m week in, week out.
Wigan were there for the taking at Wembley. Any top 8 team would have beaten them, perhaps even Rovers would. They had a half-back who could win games. Holdsworth was hopelessly out of his depth and yes, he was a Gentle signing.
When it was rumoured Gentle was getting the sack a month before Wembley, there was substance in it. I believe Radford had met Pearson with their concerns and this was leaked. Andy Hay left for a reason and I bet the reason was Gentles incompetence.

| At least with Agar, we didn't look out of our depth at Wembley and looked like we could win, even with no scrum-half. I'm no Agar fan, but we did better under him.

Apart from finishing in the bottom four twice in his four seasons, failing to win a play off game, failing to beat a Super League team in the Challenge Cup in his last three seasons and losing eleven in a row to Leeds.

Exactly, much improved under Gentle and hopefully kick on again with Radford.
I can't believe any thinks that we were better under Agar, the facts speak for itself.

| Please tell me how we improved under Gentle. I'm dying to hear this.
If we'd improved, he'd be in a job.
For an ex-halfback, we had no idea in attack. The defence was solely down to Radford and Hay.
Stop fellating Gentle, he talked a good game but we lost in some really crucial EASY games.
He was this years Paul Cullen.

He gave some young players a chance in SL. That was the biggest improvement over his predecessor. It's help set the club on the right path in terms of youth development and the future. Maybe that doesn't count for much in your view but it should. Well done for getting the word 'fellating' in your post though - it really enhanced its overall quality.

I don't think anyone is claiming that Gentle has revolutionized FC and made us a grand final winning team, but some acknowledgement has to be given for the chances that have been brought about that allow the club to begin to function as a top level professional team.
In my view were he went wrong simply comes down to placing to much trust in the players. Both in lifestyle and on the pitch he expected the players to behave and have the intelligence to adopt his methods and tactics. His biggest regret for me must be trying to adopt different attacking structures for different teams. It may work when you have Benji Marshall or the Australian team who are capable and have the intelligence to carry it out, but it is clear that FC don't have that ability. Its no surprise that Radford consistently talks about treating them like kids to get the best out of them.

And that is the best summation of the Gentle era

| Very little difference between Pete and Rich's game win ratio.
The disappointment comes from the fact that many were convinced the revolution was imminent.
We were so poor at times last season that it was shake your head material.

Well just in matters of fact
One does not guarantee the other. I'd say that we definitely did improve, but arguably not by enough.
Quote: Diablo1967 "For an ex-halfback, we had no idea in attack.'"
Agar was also a halfback, and we had even less idea in attack.
Quote: Diablo1967 "The defence was solely down to Radford and Hay.'"
I wouldn't claim to know how much truth is in these rumours (which seem to have gathered more support since Gentle's departure, as is to be expected).
Quote: Diablo1967 "Stop fellating Gentle, he talked a good game but we lost in some really crucial EASY games.

I don't see anyone 'fellating' Gentle, just some thinking he was a decent coach and bloke, and recognising the good he did for us.
Your claim that we did better under Agar is just absolute nonsense. I'm dying to hear how you can back that up.
