Quote: Sheldon "Our sport has (just) 30 top flight sides. If we had a world cup like the one you're proposing the standard would be shocking.'"

I agree, but can see both sides of the argument.

I think my biggest problem is when a player plays lots of games for the smaller nations, then suddenly switch allegiance to one of the big teams, e.g. Sam Moa playing about 20 games for Tonga, then suddenly deciding he's better off served playing for NZ. Can understand from the player's perspective as it increases chances of winning, but the international game will always be made up of 3 teams with a number of also rans, when this happens.

Don't get me wrong I can see them as well.

The problem is if the young player with potential knew he could only play for 1 side they wouldn't commit to lesser sides.

Just bought 5 tickets for South Stand at £7.50 each - BARGAIN!!

Don't know how long the promo code lasts but enter 50DAYS in the promo box on the RLWC2013 website and you get 50% off so it's currently £7.50 for North / South stands or £15.00 for East stand.

If / when that discount ends enter promo code HULLFC and you get 30% off

A case to illustrate your point ? - Jarryd Haynes. 2007- Played for Australia. 2008. Not picked in Australian WC squad so played for Fiji.

2013. Named in Australian WC squad.

Complete bargain! I do think we need to see more promotion from both Hull clubs and the Council though, they put loads of effort in to the bid itself, but since then all we've had is a few posters on lampposts. Surely it wouldn't have been hard for example to have had a promo stall at Hull Fair next week...but the effort doesn't seem to be there.

No they don't, checked this is out myself and have had to buy my son who is just over 2 a ticket. Not really fussed though when they are only £7.50 each, and TBF probably better off having his own seat anyway. It's under 2 year olds that get in for free.

Really hoping for a great game and decent crowd but I agree with the previous poster who has pointed out the lack of advertising for the cheap prices once we have actually got the game, espacially to the non regular RL fan.

fiji disappoint me a bit this time out, they were much more impressive in the last world cup. in fact i think there must be better players out there who could represent their country

i mean korbin sims, james storer, aaron groom - come on! - these are all ridiculously easy for the stadium announcer to pronounce, we can really only pin our hopes in Semi Radradra Turagasoli Waqavatu getting a game

East Hull Is Wonderful!:

I've bought tickets for all 3 games staged in Hull for £30.

I know Fiji isn't the greatest opposition but it's a chance to go watch England hopefully get a win and score some decent tries! I also think it could be quite a aggressive physical game as well which could make it entertaining!

The Fijian team looks excellent, I think they'll run England really close, even win it if England have a slightly off day.

As some of you may have guessed, I'm well up for this WC icon_lol.gif

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club. Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you. "Rugby League is a simple game played by simple people. Rugby Union is a complex game played by wankers." L.Daley 2005:

Quote: Errlee Berd "Exactly.

The only way to prove that this city has an appetite for International RL, and ensure the KC stages England games in the future, is for the RL fans of Hull to back the WC.

It's a shame that some people don't seem to care about Internationals, but that's up to them. Personally, I'd much rather spend my money watching World Class players playing in my home city, or players proudly giving everything they've got playing for their country, than some of the wasters currently running around in SL.

If some would rather spend money watching say Cameron Phelps & Ben Cross for Widnes vs Hull in SL , than Petero Civoniceva & Akuila Uate line up against players like Sam Burgess & James Graham at the WORLD CUP, I think they need their heads checking. Just a personal opinion.'"

We sold out the KC for the match v the Kiwis and was rewarded with a group match, maybe people are pi$$edoff with that when we should have had a quarter final at least.it doesn't matter who we have available as the coach is clueless.
